The long Pilgrim to Maze's End - $40 budget

Commander / EDH* Budget Five Color

My playgroup decided to build $ 40 Budget Decks (prices according to MTG Goldfish) and I proudly present my The long pilgrim to Maze's End deck.

The deck tries to win by putting 10 Gates into play and then using Maze's End activated ability. What better Commander to lead the pack than Golos, Tireless Pilgrim ? His ETB allows us to get me any land in play (Yes any! Not just basics), therefore not only fixing our colors (which is actually not that easy on a $ 40 budget!) but actively helping us assemble our wincon. Because of this, the deck runs 8 blink effects, to search our deck for more of those gates!

Unfortunately, by deciding on Maze's End as our wincon, we can not rely on Golos's amazing activated ability, as we run the risk of exiling one or more Gates from our deck, therefore exiling our wincon. If we really want to use his ability we should do it in our turn and before our land drop, but there are only 11 Gates in all of MtG and we need to find 10 of them, so there's little room for error. That's why we need recursion to counteract land destruction or mill effects ( Sun Titan , Scaretiller , Reclaim , Elixir of Immortality ...).

Apart from all the good (& super budget) green ramp cards like Cultivate Rampant Growth we have important land tutors that allow us to get our gates like Gatecreeper Vine , District Guide and Open the Gates .

And then the name of the game is playing wrath after wrath after wrath. We don't care too much if Golos dies, as we'll ramp better as our opponents and recasting him also means getting another Gate in play. Time Wipe is probably the one of the best wipes, since we can recast Golos for 5 afterwards again, while getting rid of all other creatures.

Unfortunately this strategy is not very resistant to MLD, massive mill and aggro decks, since it will take us quite some time to win the game. The only backup win con is maybe Gate Colossus or hitting a huge Villainous Wealth , but it's unlikely that we'll stand a chance if the Gate strategy doesn't work.

All suggestions are welcome, but please note that I need to stick to my budget and the deck currently comes in at $39.14
