=D My Sharuum EDH is pretty much the love of my life. This looks like a pretty solid build.

Any reason for Platinum Emperion over Platinum Angel ? Also, maybe Sharding Sphinx .

October 25, 2010 3:37 p.m.

r3h0ld3r says... #6

Honestly, because I own Platinum Emperion and I don't own the angel haha.

But I don't see much more of an advantage, besides it being a flyer, still just as annoying of a creature in my opinion. I just threw it in there because it's a big beater and it affects game play.

Besides, if I were playing against this deck, I would probably get annoyed if I was clearly winning the game, but because of one creature I'd have lost it, even though I pummeled my opponent in the negatives.

I played 3 games with this deck last night and my team mate and I were able to win one match.

No mercy now. I don't care now annoying the angel would be. I'm gonna put a couple cards in here and get rid of the shrines...they've done next to nothing for me.

Have you considered putting in more revival and recursion? That way you can bounce back easily after any of your stuff gets destroyed. Ritual of Restoration and Argivian Restoration are a couple of my faves. Once you have those you could probably afford to run the awesome artifact searchers like Reshape , Transmute Artifact , Shape Anew if you're feeling lucky, and Tinker if the people you play with will allow it

I definitely like those ideas. I'll look into what cards to get rid of.

What should I cut? There's so much to change here...

why not add Inkwell Leviathan and Enigma Sphinx also Copy Artifact might be worth looking into

the inkwell is a big beater with some evasion and shroud

the sphinx cascades and if he is killed on the battlefield he puts himself third card from the top of your library

also mindstone has a cheaper cmc than dreamstone hedron and does basically the same thing.

I really like the sphinx, I'll probably try to add that, but the leviathan I'm not too crazy about. I have one and didn't put it in here.

Also I think I'd rather pay 6 for the hedron and get three mana for it the rest of the game, rather than just one from the mind stone, but maybe that's just me. It seems more beneficial.

True, that would be sweet. I'll keep an eye out for it, but right now I'm comfortable with this deck.

Got a hold of a tunnel vision and added it in. Also put as much proliferation as I could so I could get that lux cannon up and running as soon as possible.

Decks been slow lately. Looking into adding a couple new cards. Swapping out for cards that usually stay in my hand.

Liquimetal Coating combo with Karn to destroy lands?

April 6, 2011 10:06 a.m.

r3h0ld3r says... #18

I thought about Liquimetal Coating , but Mycosynth Lattice turns everything in the game into an artifact.

Are you referencing turning an opponents land into an artifact, then using karn's ability to make it a creature, but because it's toughness would be nothing, it would be destroyed?

I never thought about that before, that's a cool little trick.

Mycosynth Lattice ? You should throw in a Furnace Dragon XD

I think adding a few tutor cards to the deck would improve it, especially Demonic Tutor and Vampiric Tutor . I see no down side to adding either of those cards to the deck.

Also I see lots of good strong creatures and lots of good artifacts here, but if you were to focus your deck a little more I think it might take it up to the next knotch. Like instead of having so many big creatures try to make it easier to cast your general by adding more mana ramp. With all the basic lands you are running Land Tax would be a good addition. The lands are a little expensive, but I think well worth it if you plan to play this alot. Plus they will not devalue so you can always sell them again too.

And speaking of mana your lands need a little bit of work, if you want you can take a look at my 5 color edh deck, Sliver Queen FTW EDH for what I consider good lands. The lands need a little bit of an update, that was just a working thing and I have since finished it but have not updated the lands, so don't copy it. But it will give you a good idea of what to do. I think the most important thing to take away is the fetch lands that work with the dual lands, expensive or cheap dual lands are both good for edh. A 2 life hit is worth the speed they give and the mana fixing they can do. Also there are a lot of good 5 color lands.

I hope this helps a little bit with the speed issues.

I could definitely add another tutor...I'll think about that.

However, I don't necessarily agree with you on adding mana ramp. The overwhelming majority of this deck is colorless, and I rarely have trouble casting a colored card. I can also tutor for mana artifacts, or even lands with Fabricate or anything else that searches for a land. Also, Mycosynth Lattice makes everything in the deck tutor-able.

Usually, as soon as I get the Skyship Weatherlight I search for Composite Golem , Fist of Suns and Mycosynth Lattice . The golem and the fist make it easy to cast my gen, and the lattice makes it possibly to just bay 5 colorless mana for any spell in the deck.

Whenever I make a five color deck, I have all 10 signets, all the obelisks and the alara lands, but as I said before, this deck is just barely 5 colors. I haven't had much trouble with mana so far.

I've made some changes to the deck, adding Treasure Mage for some tutoring, only because I can't afford demonic or vampiric tutor right now.

While Furnace Dragon would be funny, my deck would benefit much more in the cards were in my graveyard.

Also added Myrsmith ,Golem Foundry and Pentavus for token generation. Fodder for sacrificing effects.

Also added Riddlesmith for moving through my deck faster.
