My meta, being my playgroup, playes very creature heavy and defensive decks, with a few exceptions, and doesn't run much removal because nothing can get past them. I can see what you mean by Rafiq dying to often, but he does lots, because when I attack, I proc the swords twice. I am in the process of getting some Steelshaper's Gift
, but I've never run into a problem with my curve, especially when everyone else plays so slowly. Tarmogoyf
would only ever be a 3/4 vanilla, and this is a casual deck. The Pridemage would almost never get sacked, and I haven't had a problem with having too many swords, ever, though the Steelshapers are still going in there, just in case.
