Thank you! —Dec. 4, 2014
I'm sure I speak for the entire team when I say that I am incredibly honoured, humbled, and just ecstatic to be able to announce that this is currently the top "deck" on the site, and has reached 100 upvotes and 3,400 views in a matter of 4 days.
When we started typing this obviously we wanted to increase access to this incredible format whilst also teaching existing players about deck archetypes they may not have known about. This balance between appealing to the newby and the veteran was extremely hard to manage, but we pulled it off to the best of our abilities. I'm not sure any of us were even sure we'd ever get this finished, much less get this up on the website and receiving so much attention. Comments from various individuals about how this primer has helped them literally warms my heart - because it's worth remembering that this was a pretty selfless endeavor. None of us were paid, and all of us had to give up our free time to get this done (it's so far taken about 8 weeks - and we're not even finished!). Looking back to how this all started, as an idea I had on a rainy Sunday afternoon, this response is incredible.
Looking ahead obviously we have a few decks to add, and we've also had requests to write about some we've never heard of or even considered. At the moment I'm hearing a strong request for Bloom, and Balance to be done. We also are aware that perhaps 8rack and maybe even Mono Green should be discussed. Currently Tron, Storm, and Pod are being worked on, but once these are down we'll plan our next moves. We promise, as a team, to keep this updated, with new content being added on a somewhat regular basis.
I hope that this primer can become a staple of the website, and I hope it can bring some new faces, ideas, and decks into the format. We wrote this so that every last person could take part and immerse themselves in both casual and competitive modern. I'm also aware that one of my motivations was to give something back to the community here and help make TappedOut a home for the best MTG related content. With your support this has started to become a reality.
Thanks everyone for their kind words, and their upvotes.
ChiefBell
Well we have the mini GW hate bears done already, so no worry. Don't stress about the larger primers when we still have more small ones to do.
Yes: update via the google doc, and i'll transfer over.

I started on boggle its private at the current moment but I'll undo that now. Anyone with insight should hit me up on my profile. Looking for those who have taken it to at least fnm

Hey ChiefBell and all others! I really like this idea! Would you like me to feature this on the top page, or not? I have a feature token that I have been stuck with since I got upgraded. Yes/No?

Matsi883 - I'm going to bed now, but this is what it currently looks like. Two things:
1) I'm annoyed that the toggle arrows are appearing on top of the titles. Any ideas on a fix?
2). It may just be better to have all the titles entered or all left aligned. I think having them half and half is a bit lanky. Thoughts?

OK, I see your point. One I missed on is that SS/ Martyr Proc is probably T2 by either definition. Also Bloom Titan should be mentioned, since it is the fourth-most popular Combo deck behind Scapeshift, Birthing Pod, and Splinter Twin.

The problem is the header tag inside the summary tag, which the summary doesn't like. Remove that and it's fixed. We can put the another paragraph under the header with "click to show/hide" for a clean fix.
I'd align them all left except for the big title header. Half and half looks really bad.

Inspiring. Thanks for the info! (No wonder I've been so bad at modern)

Is it possible to eventually do a "archives" of decks that used-to-be in modern, but aren't anymore? for strategy sake (Second Sunrise) +1 Awesome work!

This will take an awful long time to finish reading, but I'm loving it so far. Thanks to ChiefBell and all others involved in this!

Do you want me to add this to the feature queue? I have a remaining token which I could throw at this.

Very nice primer so far. You could link to decks that are samples of the best decks for each archtype.

Can I do Jeskai control? You can just delete it if you don't like it of cause.

I really like what you've done here, and it's extremely accurate. Literally the only thing I disagree with is labeling Ad Nauseam as tier 2, I would put it at 1.5. It's a terrific deck and can beat just about anything in the format with the right person helming it and with a bit of luck.
The only deck I would add to this primer is Skred (or Mono Red Snow Control, but that's a mouthful). Skred is a deck that is very near and dear to my heart and has recently gotten a bit better with the meta shift. I started playing it soon after Boros Reckoner was printed and then dropped it for a while to play Loam, which has unfortunately fallen off the face of the meta, or else I would recommend you add it too.
If you're somehow unfamiliar with the deck I have a list that you can see here:
I'd be happy to contribute to this if you'd like, but if you don't want it then that's fine too. Oh and if you end up doing one of these for legacy, I'd love to help with that too. Cheers!

I realized you didn't write about U/R delver, which is the most played deck in modern right now. And quite a fun one I just completed a budget list that I can build for around 30$. ( I own most of the cards)

We've done izzet delver - I wrote it myself. I've been playing that deck for longer than I've been playing BG/x actually.
Jeskai control, tron, and faeries need doing. After that we'll do bloom, skred, and balance.
Mono green isn't, and can never be, a deck in modern. It has no interaction.

Well Mono Green Aggro did win a few events with more than 100+ players a few months back and some dailys and premiers but it is fringe. :3

ChiefBell I haven't had much time to finish a UR storm primer but it should be up by wednesday. Where will you be updating this from; the google doc?
If anyone needs help with the GW hatebears primer I can do that also but a little help would be great.
