First off, are you intending this to be jund or junk? Junk the pieces will translate better than jund.

xzzane, i intend this to be junk, then to transfer to jund

I'm assuming Lili is replacing Sorin, Solemn Visitor here?

Sounds good. First, a few questions. What is your local meta, and how much are you willing to invest in cards that will not translate over well to junk? Sorin, SV is absolutely amazing in tokens, but he isn't used in junk for example.

xzzane, i haven't been to my LGS in a while, but I know there is extort, and a crapload of blue decks. some of my friends play 8-whack or burn, too. I would also like to have as much of a carryover to junk as possible

How about Pia's Revolution?

Wurmlover says... #7

elpokitolama, it looks interesting, but where would you suggest that I put this in? would this replace Faith's Reward? or would it be a side card?it looks intriguing, regardless, so thank you.

I suggested it here, but after a bit of reflexion I think it would be more suited to a storm version of the deck... It comboes instantly with Krark-Clan Ironworks. Used alongside the reward, it's a win-win situation! I wouldn't play more than 3 though, but I don't know what to cut to equilibrate: Faith or Open the vault? The second one is absolutely needed if the combo fizzles after all...

elpokitolama, I think that you're right. I think it would go in a deck that didn't have Lotus Bloom in it, since returning that to your hand is useless. I'll do some testing and see what happens.

Disciple of the Vault seems quite strong.

@Moonbar in a shell that would utilise Pia's Revolution and Grapeshot, maybe... Here, it would just be a win-more card I think. n.n

[edit] I think it wouldn't be good in this shell (just like the Revolution) for the main reason that it would make the suffering shorter for the opponent, which is a flavor loss :c

elpokitolama I guess you're right, and if it isn't on flavor then what's the point anyways.

lets make this even more painful for opponents. wincon- Magma Mine sacable to KCI, cheap cost, and humiliating mana sink win. I've spent too much time with eggs.

chaosumbreon87, i like the way you think! keep the ideas coming!

edit: wait never mind, its not legal in modern. have any other ideas?

January 12, 2017 6:03 p.m. Edited.

ooh are we going for slow or are we going for slower win cons. i can go as slow, grindy, or medium +winmore as you want. fixing, better than helm. need anything else?

oh my god, chaosumbreon87 that is glorious. I was considering using Blue Sun's Zenith as well, but my god, sinking 40 mana into pinging the opponent. sheer glory. I don't want too many ETB draw effects, because milling out accidentally is more of a risk then. locked of yesterdays looks OP though.

I really need to stop with eggs. ive either built or helped build it in casual, modern, legacy, edh, standard, and frontier.

Generally for modern decks there are only 4 eggs decks though.

  1. mill- labman and/or bluesun
  2. burn- banefire and/ or pyrite spellbomb
  3. eldrazi/4 horsemen-why did I do this
  4. combination- pick 2 of the above. Usually mill+burn

Wurmlover says... #18

what is 4 horsemen, chaosumbreon87?

January 12, 2017 6:36 p.m.

4 horsemen is a semi banned legacy deck that revolves around Mesmeric Orb+Basalt Monolith+Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. banned for slow play warnings evolving into dq. It is an infinite combo that cannot be proven due to emrakul being milled reshuffling and restarting the combo.

wincon steps:

  1. mill 3-4 Narcomoebas which brings them back
  2. flashback Dread Return to return Sharuum the Hegemon
  3. sharuum returns bringing back Blasting Station
  4. infinitely bring back narcomoebas to ping the opponent to death with blasting station

above win cannot happen (emrakaul looping without significant progress made=slow play). Funny thing if someone can calculate the odds of winning at each step, you can appeal to head judge/l3/l4 judge if the tournament organizer doesnt know or believe in the law of large numbers and the law of averages.

back to modern, the deck just gets absurd amounts of mana, drops in emrakaul+another big creature and swings for lethal (on emrakaul's extra turn)

chaosumbreon87, how do you build eggs in frontier?

January 12, 2017 7:28 p.m.

paradox eggs but way better since you have 0 and 1 drop artifact equipment and sram, before it was just 0-1 drop artifacts and aetherflux+Reckless Fireweaver (more the fireweaver)

i see you enjoy the pain and misery of others. you also like slowly and inefficiently taking them out. you also have a Chromatic Sphere which means anything goes. Helix Pinnacle? Door to Nothingness? cast Blue Sun's Zenith to get your entire library to your hand then Prismatic Omen, then Glittering Wish to grab Wild Cantor from your sideboard, casting it, Conjurer's Bauble to get Glittering Wish. cast Faith's Reward to get back your Lotus Bloom, Mox Opal and Krark-Clan Ironworks etc. sac bloom for white. sac mox for green. use Conjurer's Bauble to get Glittering Wish back. then use Codex Shredder to get Faith's Reward back into your hand. use glittering wish to get Slippery Bogle sac Wild Cantor for green/blue to cast it. repeat everything since cantor. get Slitherhead. sac cantor for black. cast it. repeat. grab Elvish Hexhunter. cast it. repeat again. grab Coalition Victory. repeat as many times as necessary to get the mana required. cast it for victory.

best part is that you only need to add Blue Sun's Zenith and Pyrite Spellbomb (which are both actual win cons themselves which makes this even better) as well as a single Prismatic Omen and Glittering Wish into your main. the rest is sideboard. technically the plan hinges on you being able to produce enough colorless to cast zenith for enough, but if you can't then youre not really playing eggs.

aholder7, you are my best friend now. that combo is glorious. I will do some testing, and get back to you. one question: what would a Sideboard for this look like? how much of everything would I need?

January 13, 2017 2:51 p.m.

I'm confused, how do you win?

January 13, 2017 6:29 p.m.

Wurmlover says... #25

ramp into a huge Banefire while combing with krark clan ironworks and Faith's Reward
