Munch munch, chomp chomp, gobble gobble, gulp. The Nameless Monster has appeared! You must ready your Generals and gather your allies for the battle ahead, for if you fail all will be lost.

  1. Setting up the deck
    1. Pull Ulasht, the Hate Seed, Polukranos, World Eater, Progenitus, and Creeping Renaissance out of the deck.
      1. Creeping Renaissance gets shuffled in top 1/2 of the deck.
      2. Ulasht, the Hate Seed gets shuffled in top 1/3 of the deck.
      3. Polukranos, World Eater gets shuffled in middle 1/3 of the deck.
      4. Progenitus gets shuffled in bottom 1/3 of the deck.
    2. Determine Difficulty
      • Easy: 2 Random Heads Start on the Field.
      • Normal: 3 Random Heads Start on the Field.
      • Hard: 4 Random Heads Start on the Field.
      • God Mode: 7 Random Heads Start on the Field.
    3. Each Player contributes 20 life to shared life total.
    4. Each Player chooses 1-2 Hero card(s) to use.
    5. Players get 3 turns before the Hydra's 1st turn. Players do not draw for their first turn.
  2. General Rules
    • When making decisions for the Hydra Deck, choose the option that most favors the Hydra.
    • The Hydra Deck has infinite mana and will pay all costs for Propaganda and Rhystic Study effects.
    • If you draw a card that is either useless against the hydra deck (aka the above named cards) or completely shuts down the hydra deck (aka Teferi's Moat, No Mercy, etc.), discard it and draw another card.
    • Spells and abilities with X in its casting cost are determined by this formula:
      • X = D6 + Y ; where Y = Number of turns the hyrda has taken
    • Hydras do not have haste until Progenitus is revealed.
    • If a hydra would go to exile, it goes to the graveyard instead. Non-creature spells can be exiled as normal.
    • If the Hydra would gain life, take the bottom X cards from the Hydra's Graveyard and place them on the bottom of the Hydra's Library.
    • Non-Token Hydras attack each turn if able.
    • When a Hydra leaves the battlefield, reveal the top 2 cards of the Hydra's Library. All Hydras revealed are put onto the battlefield and the rest go to the graveyard.
    • Players may attack any Hydra of their choosing including tapped Hydras. They cannot attack the Hydra Deck directly.
    • If damage is done directly to the Hydra Deck, it mills that many cards.
  3. Special Rules
    • When Progenitus is killed, its replacement effect happens before Progenitus's shuffle trigger. This prevents him from constantly coming back if he is the last Hydra in the deck.
    • For Polukranos, World Eater's Monstosity ability, X = Y + D6 (ignore the xx).
    • Ulasht, the Hate Seed only uses its ability to put 1/1 Saprolings into play if there are no target-able creatures that it may kill with the 1 damage.
    • For any cards with Flashback: Suspend it in the graveyard for D6 turns before casting it.
    • Asceticism enters the battlefield with D6 counters on it. Once per turn it may remove a counter to use its regenerate ability.
    • Decree of Pain
      • Cannot be cycled.
      • Hydras destroyed by this card do not have their replacement effect trigger.
      • Instead of drawing X cards, reveal the top X cards of the Hydra's Library. All Hydras go into play while all non-creature spells go to the Hydra's hand and are cast when able.
  4. Hydra's Turn
    1. Untap Step
    2. Upkeep
      • Cast top 2 cards of the Hydra Deck.
    3. Main Phase 1
      • Cast spells in the Hydra's Hand.
    4. Combat
    5. Main Phase 2
      • Cast spells in the Hydra's Hand.
      • Any Hydra activated abilities are activated once per Hydra.
    6. End of Turn
      • Non-Elite Hydra tokens deal 1 damage to players.
      • Elite Hydra tokens deal 2 damage to players.
  5. Victory
    • At any time there are no heads on the field at End of Turn, the Players win!

Also in the deck are the cards from the Hydra Horde Challenge Deck:

x1 Disorienting Glower
x6 Distract the Hydra
x3 Hydra's Impenetrable Hide
x4 Noxious Hydra Breath
x5 Torn Between Heads
x7 Unified Lunge
x21 Hydra Head
x8 Ravenous Brute Head

This is my first horde deck and it is still needs a lot of work to balance it out. Suggestions are very much appreciated to make this deck the nightmare it can be. Don't forget to +1 if you want to be crushed by this!
