I think the best strategy against this would be to play with a deck full of all of the Pacts and cards that let you pay X life, just so you can lose in a timely fashion.

@Lame_Duck - Yeah, that's strong. Gotta try to counter those Pacts, as the Shahrazad deck.

Why no Burning Wish ? Getting your Shahrazad from the main game (or the sub game if you're in a sub sub game) seems way too good. Also, you really need some anti City in a Bottle tech.

@smash10101 - It's a good question. The main reason is, red complicates the mana base and I wanted to actually build this deck (which I did, and play it only against people who invoke my wrath). However, anti-City in a Bottle is a troubling consideration indeed. Might be worth it.

red gets you Wear / Tear as well as Burning Wish . Honestly, you could cut all your blue, put in Reverberate (or Fork ) and Wish.

The deck has a perfect score, it never loses! You would go to time every game and be a 0 - 0 draw. I really want to make a deck like this and it would be really annoying to play against and fun to play.We have a casual Thursday tournament night every week and this would be perfect to play! I love stally slow decks like these that just troll your opponent.

Hate to burst the nice troll bubble here (oh who am I kidding ruining dreams is my favorite pastime). This deck will never win. It will never even draw. It will always lose. While it sounds "supar trollsy" in theory in practice once your opponent realizes your deck does nothing but copy shaharazad and therefore CANNOT finish them off, they'll just concede every single subgame until they reach the main game and proceed to play a normal game, just at half life. Without any way of capitalizing on the penalty of shaharazad it has no power. I've seen this... I've done this. As my dreams shattered so now do I revel in the destruction of yours.

Oh god, Shahrazad and Hive Mind in the same deck? Using those two cards in a 5 player game and we have 5 sub-games of magic within sub-games within yet another set of sub-games

Isn't Shahrazad banned? The deck is displayed legal though.

But I like the idea :D
