@InfiniteMana - I just replaced the 2x ashiok I had in the mainboard to up the Jace, Architect of Thought count to 4 because my deck was struggling against control. I still keep them in the sideboard against control and red-deck-wins.
As for far/away, I 100% prefer it over devour flesh. Unfortunately, this deck needs turn 2 spot removal to keep up with the current aggro decks in the format. If I don't get ratchet bomb or pack rat right away, I need to keep their board cleared.

Ashiok is very powerful in most matchups, but I prefer keeping it in the sideboard so my opponent doesn't see it coming after game 1. The entire purpose of this deck is to be unexpected.

hahaha beat all I just played your deck against Tempo Time with midrange selesnya. and I misread packrat. I didn't know you had to pay 3 before discarding. so turn three, you played pack rat, discarded 6 cards, and had 6 7/7's on turn 3. I lost. Still a good card though.

@Grabnar - If pack rat was THAT broken, I would mainboard 10 of them xD
Pack Rat's main weakness is either immediate removal or early fatties that can keep up with him. Otherwise he just takes over the board, keep that in mind.
Also, you might be interested in the article series I'm starting for this deck, it's first matchup is against Spootyone's Selesnya deck.

You play at the enchanted realms in colorado springs?
December 7, 2013 4:52 a.m.
Yeah I do drafts there every once in a while. Usually do standard at muse but may start going there in January since my wife will have Friday's off
December 7, 2013 4:55 a.m.
Well maybe we'll start seeing each other more then
I just wish I knew what everyone was playing for once, 2 weeks ago everyone was mono-black, last week it felt like everyone was mono-blue, last night I played 2 of the GR ramp decks.
I don't know how to prepare for FNM anymore xD
December 7, 2013 4:57 a.m.
Same here. Last week everyone did mono blue at muse and I did mono black and didn't play out well for me. Usually I see a ton of mono green, boros or jund. Was definitely not prepared to face multiple mono blue in one night. Everyone sees a deck do well in a grand prix and they have to try it it seems

@meulaven I wish everyone would play mono-blue, it's the strongest matchup for my deck.
Well I'm heading to bed now, I'm gonna be clearing the comments up in the morning, stay in touch!

love the deck.and the use of Haunted Plate Mail
in here. Pack Rat
is really broken indeed, that card has won so many games for Aggro Hand Destruction (Undefeated @ FNM) +1 from me.

you take Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver out of your side board so often you might wanna make it a main board instead
December 7, 2013 2:06 p.m.
@mucher - I didn't realize how often I did, I'll go through all my sideboards and decide what can be replaced, thanks for pointing that out

I like this deck it is solid +1 from me I'm trying make infinity damage with zur Ta Druid and elite arcanist
December 7, 2013 11:54 p.m.
@Raging-Tab --- My recommendation for that deck is to run Hammer of Purphoros so you can win on turn 4.
T1 - Forest.
T2 - Mountain + Zhur-Taa Druid
T3 - Island + Hammer of Purphoros
T4 - Any Land + Elite Arcanist exiling Triton Tactics = WIN GAME
@Grabnar --- Hey Austin, I have a new idea for the deck... replacing all the jaces with haunted plate mail. :D
December 8, 2013 12:06 a.m.
urg... you have a deck named "grabnar", Now I have to type [ [user:Grabnar] ] to link your name :( Grabnar
December 8, 2013 12:10 a.m.
good idea! I deleted it for you beatall. That's crazy that I found you randomly and I was reading "Enchanted Realms" and read game 5. ...that's william haha
December 8, 2013 12:15 a.m.
After that first match, I was sitting there thinking... "Who plays archangel of thune?"
December 8, 2013 12:31 a.m.
Well it DID beat me, so I can't really argue that it doesn't work :P

Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver would be pretty sweet in this deck, and Far / Away is better than Devour Flesh in my opinion.
