Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness (Sword of Fire and Ice). I am the watcher on the walls (Parapet Watchers). I am the fire that burns against the cold (Foxfire), the light that brings the dawn (Banishing Light), the horn that wakes the sleepers (Horn of Deafening), the shield that guards the realms of men (Shield of the Righteous). I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all nights to come. -Oath of the Night's Watch

The Night's Watch is a group of Builders (Stoic Builder), Stewards (Baird, Steward of Argive, Steward of Valeron), and Rangers (Cloudgoat Ranger, Ranger of Eos, Juniper Order Ranger). The members of the Night's Watch are sworn to defend the Wall (Wall of Frost), and they swear their vows in front of the Old Gods and the New (Heliod, God of the Sun, Oketra the True), with some reciting their vows in front of a Weirwood Tree (Tree of Redemption). Most of the garrison is situated at Castle Black (Glacial Fortress), but the men often frequent the nearby Mole's Town (Gavony Township). Centuries ago, the men would Cultivate the gift, but now they mainly take an Expedition Map when they go Into the North in search of information, or perhaps to set up camp at the Fist of the First Men (Mouth of Ronom).

Many famous and high-born characters are part of the Night's Watch, Maester Aemon (Arcanis the Omnipotent) and Jon Snow (Tolsimir, Friend to Elves) among them. With the number of Knights joining the Watch declining in the last several decades (Knight-Captain of Eos), the Watch is thankful for its Resolute Watchdogs. A seige upon the Wall was broken by King Stannis Baratheon (Brimaz, King of Oreskos). The Night's Watch need to Keep Watch, or else they may one day need to be saved by Daenerys Targaryen (Sunscorch Regent).

No one likes cleaning up after the Messenger Falcons (ravens), but with hard work one can rise high to the position of Captain of the Watch. However, in recent years the numbers at the Wall have dwindled, and the Watch will take the help of giants (Frost Titan, Sun Titan) if they can get it. Just remember that wherever you end up at the Wall, be sure to wear a heavy cloak, or you might become part of a Crystallization!

Taking a break from Flavor for a second, this deck is designed to outlast the opponent. Preventing damage and tapping creatures down helps the Watch do this. I've tried to achieve a good mix of flavor and power. I want the deck to be flavorful enough that you can tell it's the Night's Watch, but also capable of playing with other Commander decks without getting blown completely out of the water.
