Not bad. Have any advice for my $30 Chainer deck? It's also mono black, focused, and geared toward being powerful enough to keep up with decks 10, 20, or 30x it's price range.

This is super cool! I think I'm going to buy this deck to introduce me into the color Black. Black has just never clicked with me, I've never understood what black decks really aim for or what cards to put in to achieve those goals. This looks like a great introductory deck! Thank you!!!

JoeSoapWash, no problem, thanks for your awesome comment! I'm so glad this deck will introduce you to black! It's definitely one of my favorites to play. If you don't mind, when you get the deck and play with it, would please put some feedback either on the deck page or my page? It would be much appreciated!

so on tcgplayer the deck is $4.51, you can add some board wipes that target all creatures or everything, like Life's Finale , Plague Wind , or Decree of Pain , some are more than .25c but you can remove a few lands and stay under 10, I bought and played the deck and this is where some of its weaknesses were, not enough things to destroy enchantments and get rid of a board full of creatures, especially if someone has an enchantment that doesn't let you target their creatures

Oblivion Stone may be a good one to get also to save your commander specifically a little on the pricy side for this deck if you do add it but its a full board wipe

Have you considered strip mine?

Nevinyrral's Disk , and Bontu's Last Reckoning are good cheap board wipes that don't target anything, and Army of the Damned is a great way to add creature advantage for cheap, just been working with the budget and keeping it under 10 and that's what I got so far, I believe I added one more, I took out a few lands because 42 is a lot where you can take 3 or 4 out and be okay

Hoobynobber7395 those cards are far too expensive to stay under the $10 limit especially considering that this is using new/mint pricing, and those $2 cards are 1/5 of the budget. 40 basics are there because he ran out of budget and he could only use lands to fill the slots to get the deck to the required 100 cards. I may not be the creator, but thats what my thoughts are.

Anti-sticky_keys i see, i bought them moderate- heavily played bringing the price way down for me, so i went by what i had spent not by them being nm/m priced, thats my bad, i did see that Butcher of Malakir is only $0.39 and may be a good one, it forces a player to sacrifice

By optimizing my cart and removing a few cards that I already own, the price is $3.32. This is the cheapest magic deck I've ever seen despite it being a commander deck.

Because im paying $1 for shipping, I might as well spend a few more dollars. What do you guys think the most important upgrades would be for a few dollars more?

copop22 i also bought this and have been making upgrades, i put it up on here its about $50 for the full deck without lands but it is a really fun and interesting deck creates a fun dynamic in a playgroup , check it out The Midas Touch

I'm looking at this list but there are some things missing here that could really benefit this deck. 1: Where's short sword? Let me tell you about short sword. It's a one mana equipment that allows you to equip it onto a creature (also one mana) to give it +1+1. Now, with +1+1, it allows creatures to get out of the range of burn removal and give it resistance to -1-1 counters. What's so flexible about the equipment is that it equips for one so you can move it around from creature to creature. The artifact itself costs one mana, so it's a quick early game play to set up for a stronger play later on. That's all I have. Enjoy your deck, but remember to add short sword.

i mean, for this budget, i can't believe that it plays well! I don't know if i should call it a jank deck, because it can stand up to cEDH decks if they're not careful.

Hey man, cool deck. I'm just getting started in playing edh, so this is the perfect deck. What are the upgrades that you mention? And can they not break the bank?

Started playing mtg beginning of October and quickly realized pre con decks won't cut it. Found this budget deck mid October and bought it. Haven't had the chance to use it until last night and I gotta say, I'm quite impressed that it held its own against 2 other people. Amazing budget deck! I'll check back from time to time to see how you update it in the future.

NinjaLoutre: I'm so glad you enjoyed the deck! At the moment, I am working on the full upgrade guide which will include exactly what to cut and how much it will cost. Right now, I have the $1.00 tier complete, and you should expect the whole thing done by the end of december! I'd love to talk more and get some feedback on the deck, so feel free to post on my main page or email me at [email protected]

As a fellow budget builder, I salute you and your deed. I strive to become a true budget builder as you are. Also, thanks for this deck. I can't wait to bring this to my playgroup and test it out irl!
