Maybeboard

Control is my favorite archetype, since I started playing Magic back on 90's. So, after a hiatus of ten years without playing magic, me and a couple of friends (from the old times) started playing it again. Nothing more natural for me to build a Control deck again.

This deck started as an UB Pearl Lake Control, evolved to a UB Dragon Control and finally I reach this configuration as an Esper Dragons Control. Also, Origins just came out, and I used this oportunity to update my old UB Dragon Control with some Origins cards and a splash of white.

So, if you liked, just drop +1. Please share your thoughts about in the comments bellow. Thanks

Deck Breakdown

Bile Blight: Remove those anoying token from Elspeth, Sun's Champion and early threats.

Despise: Good option to remove an annoying creature from your opponent's hand on the first turns and stop early threats. We need to be prepared and let the board clear until Dragonlord Ojutai resolves. It can be substitute by Duress against Control decks like UB Control.

Foul-Tongue Invocation: Foul-Tongue is very important on the actual magic scenario. Very agressive decks can just destroy control decks on a couple of turns. Foul-Tongue not only can eliminate hexprof and undestructible threats, as it'll probably give us 4 precious points of life. Just remember, if you have a Dragon, foul-tongue will give 4 life even if your opponent do not have any creatures to sacrifice!!

Clash of Wills: Counterspell addtion from Origins. Good option for both early and late game.

Dissolve: Standard counter. Can maybe be replaced by Dissipate in case your are facing too many threats from graveyard.

Silumgar's Scorn: Great counterspell for the beggining of the match, so you can counter early threats from aggro decks. It's also great for late game, because you'll probably have a Dragon resolved, or at least on your hand. Just remember that Ugin, the Spirit Dragon is not considered a Dragon!
