I'm not sure I like Lightning Helix since the Grandmaster makes the lifegain redundant. But I guess I'm not exactly sure how that resolves either. I would suggest Pulse of the Forge and Whipflare. Though Whipflare may only work well as a sideboard against tokens.

Nvm Whipflare. Pyroclasm is better

Lightning helix would gain 6 life while the grand master is out, and for 2 mana, 3 damage and 3 life gain is already a good deal. I've been trying to decide between Pyroclasm and Anger of the Gods actually, though I'm thinking those would be more suited against decks with lots of creatures, like tokens. The bonus with those is, even if I kill off my own creatures, I'll still gain life for hitting them. There's definitely a certain satisfaction that would come out of playing a spell like that and then gaining 20 life while wiping the board, though I don't know how relevant it would be 1vs1 yet. I'll likely side one of them in for our matches, though I might not take it to an FNM. Other than that, I might sub out the seekers for the eidolon at some point if I can acquire them. I'm not sure Pulse would work in here since I have a good chance of acquiring more life than my opponent.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Anger of the Gods should not be underestimated, especially against persist (Kitchen Finks) or undying (Geralf's Messenger). I'd swap your Shock for it.

Also, you don't get "double lifelink", any more than you'd get "double trample" or "double flying" or whatever.

On your sideboard, I'd put in Path to Exile instead of Dismember -- overall better. I wouldn't worry about Glaring Spotlight: your opponent simply shouldn't live long enough for a hexproof creature to matter. If you run Anger of the Gods or some other "each creature and each player" damage, you'll be fine.

Thanks for the input! I was actually already considering taking glaring spotlight out for something like Pyroclasm or Anger of the Gods. I like the idea of Path to Exile as well, though my main reasoning for Dismember is in play against infect to combat any potential Phyrexian Crusaders, in which paying the 4 life won't be an issue. I've also been giving consideration to Dead/Gone, since it gives the option of instant damage, or a bounce for anything too large or protected from damage.

If your comment about double lifelink was regarding Lightning Helix, then note that Lightning Helix's ability to gain 3 life is not considered lifelink, so it would still gain lifelink for a total gain of 6 life while the Grand Master is out.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Dead/Gone isn't very good in general

Exquisite Firecraftl would be an amazing card in some matchups because of the "cannot be countered" I would suggest 1mb and 2sb

I've actually been giving that some thought lately, though I'm not sure where to fit it in, particularly because I don't run spells with 3cmc in here atm.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll keep looking for a slot for it.

Instead of Fiery Impulse or Searing Blood, try Searing Blaze. It's usually better.

I would do Searing Blaze if I had fetch lands. Since I'm on a bit of a budget, I'm trying to stay away from it at this time, but if I ever acquire the fetches that are common in other burn decks, I'll definitely put them in. Thanks for the suggestion!

Also, I like Fiery Impulse for one cost instant speed creature removal, since there's not a lot of that in this deck, aside from Lightning Bolt.

Any thoughts on Exquisite fire craft over Molten rain? I like the land destroy plan. But I am not sold 2 main 2 side. If your on a land destination game plan. You realy should 3 of. Even with soul fire buy back it's mana intense.

I was using Exquisite Firecraft as a 1 of in the MB. I'm trying something different out considering there's a lot of Tron in my local meta, plus it can be helpful when running into Inmoth and Blinkmoth. You're probably right that I should 3 of in the MB. I've sided in 2 Exquisite Firecraft as well against control.

Thanks for the input!
