Beat me to it. One question what formatting did you use to get her as your commander?

Tezzeret's Gambit, Fuel for the Cause and Viral Drake are worth thinking about. Scour from Existence can potentially cost 0 which is always nice. Mystic Retrieval is a must. Lastly why no Rite of Replication when you can make it cost almost nothing?

I can't believe I forgot Rite of Replication, I feel like a fool. Thanks for the reminder.

Scour from Existence could be pretty nice in here, nothing quite like a potentially free kill spell. The rest I'll definitely take into consideration.

As for how I managed to get Mizzix as the commander, I basically uploaded the card image as an alter of Melek. The code is *A=2183* if you or anyone else wants to use it until it officially hits the site.

Unless you have a dedicated armament that takes advantage of Arcane Melee, I would take that out ASAP. Your commander already reduces costs, and enabling opponents to have 1 mana removal, 2 mana wraths, and 1/2 mana counterspells is a really bad idea. Replace with Neurok Stealthsuit for additional protection (The major weakness of your deck)

Oh also, code on that alter is A=2831.

Thanks for letting me use your Mizzix for the moment. I've put mine up if you're interested Lightning Powered Spider Goblin. It differs slightly from yours but it seems we had the same basic idea abuse Buyback, Overload, Kicker and Flashback to hell. It also seems we're on a similar budget (its annoying not being able to put snappy in eh?).

@CharybdisV - And now I feel more the fool for not checking my number first. Thanks for clearing that one up though.

Also, you're totally right about Arcane Melee there, good call on more protection.

@beakedbard - Casting Capsize as a Boomerang that returns to your hand? What's not to love? I do have to say one thing though, as far as potential budget commanders go, I feel like Mizzix could be one of the better ones by virtue of simply being able to make otherwise overcosted (and thus generally budget) spells into ludicrously cheap ones. Hell, I've tested this out a little bit and I managed to get a Treasure Cruise off for without a single Delve. Pretty late-gamey unless I have Contagion Engine, but it's definitely a thing.

I used Jace's Sanctum instead of Arcane Melee it doesn't effect your opponents and gives you something extra whenever you cast and instant/sorc.

What about Goblin Electromancer? Is he too redundant since your commander already reduces costs?

Does his ability reduce the cost on kicker, flashback, overload? If so that's nuts!

Burn at the Stake could be cool in this deck too.

Battlefield Thaumaturge for the spells that target multiple creatures, like Curse of the Swine

I've started working on my own Mizzix deck. I'll post a link when I'm done if you'd like.

One thing I'd recommend is that you get Sakashima the Impostor. He can copy Mizzix or anyone else's commander. Copying Mizzix means that your spells cost less by twice the number of experience counters you have ;)

Plus if an opponent plays the new Ezuri while you have Young Pyromancer or Talrand, Sky Summoner out, you'll have a strong alternate source of experience counters if you copy their Ezuri :P

Plus Ezuri's own use of counters is pretty powerful. Heheh

Sakashima the Impostor sounds like a great idea for this deck, actually, thanks. Definitely post your link once it's done if you'd like to, more ideas never hurt.

I've almost finished designing my version, though I'm stuck on what 26 cards to take out xD. (I'll sort them out tomorrow)

Try 5 more lands, that should work better.

Into the Core seems to focus a bit much on the metagame... However, if someone in your circle plays artifacts, it's justified.

Sakashima the Imposter doesn't look as if it flows with the theme of the deck. I might be wrong, but it just seems a bit off...

Vandalblast is similar to Into the Core in my opinion.

Capsize looks a bit underpowered...

Comet Storm sigh... It just seems a bit too expensive. If there was a deck for it, this is the one, though...

Just some suggestions, but your deck looks better than mine, which can be found here: Mizzix of the Card-Draw

Pretty much every serious EDH meta plays artifacts. Sol Ring, Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots; just to name a few staples. A lot of combo decks use powerful artifacts to boost their combos, or even as parts of their combos. So running both Vandalblast and Into the Core is definitely worth it.

Sakashima the Impostor can copy Mizzix like I said, reducing costs by twice your experience counters. Can also copy anything else on the field, so basically a clone who can act as a second copy of your commander.

Capsize can return any permanent, including land and has buyback. It's instant speed and can be used to shut down combos. With 4 experience counters and Mizzix out, which is easy to get, it becomes a flexible bounce that keeps returning to your hand whenever you play it.

Comet Storm isn't all that great, but if you can get enough mana, it can be used as a red boardwipe that can also hit players. I think the new Meteor Blast could be run alongside it, and would be a better thing to draw into though, because; well... it deals 4 damage to 10 creatures/players for 13 mana, while Comet Storm requires 16 mana to do the same. Comet Storm is scalable though, and instant speed, and is still pretty powerful, so I think running both would be worth it, especially with all of Mizzix's cost reduction.

There's a big variation between 35 and 40 lands for EDH players. I don't know which is best because I haven't played enough EDH to see the effective difference, but a lot of people do run 35 so there must be some merit to it.

I get what you mean about the artifacts, I guess. :)

Umm... You can't have more than one copy of a legendary creature at any time... It's a nice idea, but I think Rite of Replication does the job better. 6 copies of Charmbreaker Devils or Guttersnipe is no push over.

I s'pose Comet Storm Does work that way, but the amount of mana you pay for it to be an effective boardwide is gargantuan - not great if ou only have 35 lands in your deck.

40 lands are best if you don't want to miss land drops.

"except its name is still Sakashima the Impostor". Gets around the legendary rule.

Google Sakashima and you'll probably find discussions about how awesome he is for getting around the legendary rule :P

So many good options with this commander, he is AWESOME.

Thanks for the inspiration from many cards on your list, mostly the proliferate cards witch i totally forgot about.

Im not sure what to remove to add other cards since maybe i don't get the synergy right but, heres some old combos i play that are just made very easier with experience cost reduction:

Reiterate + Seething Song for unbound red mana.

Reiterate + Turnabout or Reality Spasm + Reiterate for unbound mana of any color.

Dualcaster Mage + Rite of Replication maybe its too broken lol. Anyways i only use this combo if they happen to be there at the same time in my hands, they both are very good by themselves.

Capsize + Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx + Treachery (need to make 8 mana out of 5 lands with 4 experience) for unbound mana and unbound bounce ;no more lands or any targetable permanents for all your opponents is pretty much a win. Just be careful about sacrifices that could fizzle you spells.

Mind Over Matter + Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx + Whispers of the Muse with enough devotion and experience can allow you to make a lot of mana and draw a lot of cards. That goes without saying that Mind Over Matter is a very versatile card when you have a bunch of draw spells as it transforms all cards in hand into MANA(mostly) or attack prevention or anti-blocker or utility reactivation and good devotion to blue.

EDHNUT. My guess is that this deck doesn't need too much colorless mana sources since colorless mana is anti-synergistic with experience counters. The deck also has ways to flashback or cast from the grave its not that bad to discard to 7 (it can even be a way to put big spells in the grave and Mizzix's Mastery them).

Even Boseiju, Who Shelters All will be underpowered since with some experience counters on you, most of the spells wont be able to be cast with it, it will mostly be for big X spells that can always go over the number of xp counters.

Well of course Mizzix of the Izmagnus wont always be on the battlefield and a good commander deck should be able to manage without it's commander so colorless mana sources will be useful but, should be kept to the minimum.

I too learned something today!!!

Gilded Lotus + Mind Over Matter + Mizzix's Mastery discarding Plea for Power + Time Stretch + Twincast and other random spells = lots of laughter, but not for the opponents ;) and without the commander on the field.

All Is Dust and Scour from Existence are potentially free removal spells for you. I've also gotten good usage from Flow of Ideas in my own Mizzix deck. I'd also consider Condescend and Mindswipe as part of your counterspell arsenal.
