The Podium of Legendary Esper!!

Standard Theme/Gimmick WUB (Esper)

Pheedle

Last night, at a casual MTG event, I pulled a Heroes' Podium from a booster. I was promptly laughed at for my bad fortune, and was told that 'It is not good in any format'.

Being the male that I am, I took this as a challenge. I searched through my folders for Legendary creatures and cards and noticed a trend: there was a lot of white, a lot of blue, and a lot of black. 'Hmmmmm', I thought, 'those be Esper colors......' and then a wicked grin slowly spread across my face....

Esper Midrange seems like the expensive big-brother to white weenie. It has the same emphasis on beatdown, but with a few additional recovery moves. With that in mind, I have taken the top Esper Midrange build, and tweaked it for my own nefarious purposes.

Here is the goal: exploit the mechanics of Heroes' Podium to both buff and draw your legendaries. This has less creatures than your normal beatdown, but that is addressed with Daxos of Meletis, Whip of Erebos and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver. Control staples are included for extra......well, control. You may need to delay as any control player would to meet the CMC 4 average of your creatures.

That is it!! Try it, have fun with it, and let me know what you think. Votes, feedback and suggestions always welcome!!
