I pulled one from a Fat Pack and tried it out for about a month and I found it to be underwhelming. The biggest problem is the low impact it has. 2 damage a turn isn't much, and I found I was actually helping some reanimator decks by giving them a free sac outlet. The other is the cost. 4 mana may not seem like much, but to put it into perspective, Spellshock costs 3 and deals anywhere from 2-10 damage a turn. Ankh of Mishra costs 2 and deals 2-4 damage a turn, maybe more if they're ramping. For the same cost Erebos, God of the Dead permanently* prevents them from gaining life and lets me draw cards with spare mana. I often have the devotion that would be needed to activate Mogis, and hitting for 7 is nice, but I also run cards that punish players (including myself) for having creatures.
TL;DR: It doesn't have a big enough impact to warrant inclusion

I have not. My problem with it is that I can't manipulate my library to benefit from the miracle cost, so I'll be paying a majority of the time. I can also really only generate a sufficient amount of mana when I use Yawgmoth's Will with some ritual cards, and if I'm doing that I'd rather play my whole graveyard than Bonfire of the Damned. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

In terms of a Silent Arbiter Replacement, maybe Crawlspace?
August 9, 2015 3:24 p.m.
I'm going to try out Crawlspace. As for Death Pits of Rath and Furnace of Rath, the Death Pits is a little slow and requires Kaervek to work, while the Furnace of Rath doubles the damage I do to myself, as well. I know, "no pain, no gain", but I kill myself enough that I probably shouldn't run it lol.

If you wanna replace Killing Wave, I suggest you to try Toxic Deluge.

Never thought about it but it could work, I'll test it out.

Thinking of replacing Bloodgift Demon with Ob Nixilis Reignited. Thoughts on that?

I think that that's a good idea, since he's the same mana cost for the same effect, but he can also destroy creatures or use his ultimate to just win.

Yes, he is now in. I also ordered a Rakdos Signet to replace Armillary Sphere. Toxic Deluge is next on the order list, I think,

why not a card like Everlasting Torment that could help out in this deck

I used to run that and Sulfuric Vortex but drawing into the other when you have one already makes it a dead card. A lot of people are also not running life gain, which also made the cards kind of useless. I am running Erebos, God of the Dead, which still allows me to gain life and also lets me draw cards.

If you toss in Soul Conduit or Magus of the Mirror it makes it super fun to run stuff like Toxic Deluge!

I have no comments on your deck, but I love the name and the inspiration!
"Flies all green & buzzing, in his dungeon of despair"
Long-time fan!

@khunkao: Glad to hear it, always nice to meet another fan! You should try the deck, you'll love it! Rakdos isn't dead, it just smells funny!

I'm currently looking for a replacement for Burning Earth. Any suggestions?

I like Seizan but he has a couple problems. It's effect triggers during the upkeep, which means I don't benefit until my next turn. The other is that it is a creature, which means it's very likely it won't be there during my next turn. Thanks for the suggestion, though.
