I like it. I'm a big fan of mono black decks. it's hard to get right, but when you do it's really powerful. have you considered gatekeeper of makikir?
I love the sideboard, it's what a good sideboard should be.

@azim6212002: Swiftfoot Boots is very interesting and something I'll have to think about, almost guaranteeing protection for any of my heavy hitters which is potentially any of my creatures. I would still use Lashwrithe if I put it in but I would decrease Lashwrithe to 2 and put in 1 Swiftfoot Boots . Very interesting, thank you.
@popeyroach: Thank you :) you should look at my Vampire Karnage deck, mono-black vamps but different than others. I have thought about Gatekeeper of Malakir but the only use I'd have for him is paying an extra swamp to get them to sacrifice a creature. As a 2/2 he isn't going to do much for me. So something like Blind Zealot would be better. I like my sideboard too :) I think I've done rather well creating this deck without being able to playtest! And of course, thanks for the comment~

I play in the Chicago area; particularly in a wealthy suburban area. Everyone has expensive decks, so when I'm making suggestions, I'm making them coming from a heavily populated area with tons of players who play the most expensive & popular decks out there. I'm not sure where you're playing at (you could be in the same boat for all I know), but a deck that doesn't have something that gets going creature-wise quickly is generally in trouble @ FNM & big trouble at tournaments.
My suggestions were keeping that in mind as well as the pending rotation. I like the Metamorph idea over the Assassin by itself. If you add the Magnet (which is a big control in & of itself), then for sure go with Assassin. That combo doesn't really hurt your curve if you add land ramp (which isn't a bad idea).
I guess what I'm trying to say is that where I'm from, I've got to think WAY outside of the box to win against so many Mega rough decks, so I usually offer up stuff like the Satchel because NO ONE @ my FNM is playing it, so it'd be pretty effective. Most people on the boards on this website don't like those types of suggestions because they don't adhere to the popular belief of what constitutes a "solid" deck (card efficiency, card advantage, mana curve, etc). I made a deck last week that snuck in a 3rd place because I didn't stick to those molds (Mighty Whitey). At first glance, it looks like a deck that's full of holes, but it actually had a bit of everything to cut into most of the popular decks because they didn't expect that type of play.
Please don't take anything I said personally or as a slight on you. That's not my intent. I'm just trying to preach my gospel here. I'd just love to see more people try to shake the establishment is all. ;-)

How long does it take to get this deck going? Seems like you have too many high cmc creatures, but that's just me. Have you thought of Abyssal Persecutor ?

The only thing I can say is that I would remove the Massacre Wurms. I had a playset when they were first released, and while they're great cards, there are much better. My suggestion would be: - 2 Wurms +1 Grave T. +1 Wurmcoil Engine, or - 2 Wurms +1 Batterskull +1 Sorin Markov, or even - 2 Wurms + 2 Vampire Nighthawk for protection from early flyers (Even though this clashes with your Consume the Meek). Also, remember that 6 cmc is high, so you may want to remove them for lower cmc removal of some sort. Either way, looks solid. +1!

@BaldVader: Where I play, on average there are 30-60 people at FNM. There are a few pros that participate along with your standard meta deck people. Since there are so many people playing, I can't tailor my deck to a meta of any sort but just make it as solid as possible. I didn't think you were being offensive or anything sorry if my comment came off that way. Adding mana ramp would mean splashing green and forgoing contol and I'd like to stick to mono black.
@GiganticWeapon: My deck usually starts going by turn 4 and I use removal and dedicated discard to get me through those turns. I have thought of Abyssal Persecutor and it was in here before, but with having only 3 Go for the Throat s it seemed too much of a liability and I've switched the persecutor out for a swamp.
@That_Darn_Penguin: I think I'll have to see playtest to know for sure, Massacre Wurm has good synergy with Mimic Vat but so does Grave Titan . For now I'll replace 1 Massacre Wurm with a Grave Titan . Batterskull and Sorin Markov are interesting, but I don't know if they have enough finishing power. Again, I'll have to playtest. Early fliers wont bother me because I can always remove them with my removal or dedicated discard, my deck will get going before they can kill me. Thanks for the comment and rate!

I would say move the remaining Massacre Wurm to the sideboard and replace it with another Wurmcoil Engine . Also you should find room for some Gatekeeper of Malakir , and more Vampire Nighthawk between the main and the board for aggro match ups. And remove the Consume the Meek if you do add the lower cmc's, you can always sideboard it for elves, goblins, tempered steel etc, in my experience, drawing Consume the Meek against a control deck is a dead card. Oh and you could possibly remove the Mimic Vat s or something and find room for 2 Mind Sludge to protect your investments and but you at a huge advantage.

I'm a huge fan of Swiftfoot Boots , so I support it's inclusion in this deck. I also like Tumble Magnet and Royal Assassin because combos are fun. I'm not 100% sure if these cards will make the deck more competitive, but I'd say they're worth trying out.
August 6, 2011 2:42 p.m.
If I put in Swiftfoot Boots , I'd put in only 1 and lower Lashwrithe to 2. Or do you think I should replace something else? Tumble Magnet and Royal Assassin is cool and all but it won't make my deck more competitive because while the assassin might replace nighthawk, Tumble magnet would replace Mimic Vat , and that just won't do.
and btw I just found out my deck is on the top deck list

I don't get the huge love affair with the Wurmcoil. It's very good, but isn't necessary in EVERY deck like this. The Massacre Wurm is not more popular, but it is more effective. It's a shame to see it down to 1, but at the very least keep it mainboarded. If you Black Sun the turn before laying Black Wurm it's a delicious rain of death and damage. The Wurmcoil doesn't have that much activity tied to it at all; PLUS you need to attack with it to do anything. The Massacre does its business as soon as it joins the party and each turn after when death's involved.
August 6, 2011 11:42 p.m.
@BaldVader: I completely agree, Massacre Wurm is definitely more effective in this deck, but I keep the Wurmcoil Engine for the lifegain if I need it. I downed Massacre Wurm to 1 to raise Grave Titan to 2. I felt like he was a better finisher, what do you think about that?

Aha....ahaha....ahahahaha!
It's stupid the thinking of people with expensive decks, maybe on Ob-Nixilis? Just stupid when people just make rare/mythic rare decks, especially black ones, when done right black decks are just unstoppable and it's stupid how they keep making it worse by making better cards...
Sadly I have to +1 this like every other rare/mythic rare black deck done to make people cry...
August 7, 2011 1:24 p.m.
@gpmoon22: I was thinking of Ob Nixilis, the Fallen before but gave that spot to Liliana Vess but I feel he could be better than Vengeful Pharaoh especially since I've bumped my land count to 25 since then. Thanks for the suggestion! And you saying this deck will make people cry is very flattering, thank you.
August 7, 2011 3:40 p.m.
Tears! I llove that angry Pharaoh! You've only got 8 more FNM for the Ob Nixilis, so I guess it's not a bad play if you've got him.
Per your question, I still like the Black Worm over Gravey...especially if/when you switch to Sorin for your walker. A drop to 10 life followed by the Massacring the opponent's dudes with 2 damage added per death (hopefully) makes for an imminent win. Gravey ends up too slow in that scenario.
August 8, 2011 12:25 a.m.
By the way...
Mr. gpmoon22, don't lament black's might too much. M12's new white cards can put a mighty huge dent in an expensive black deck's plans, sir. You should give that a good study & go for it.
August 8, 2011 12:32 a.m.
@BaldVader: I love Vengeful Pharaoh too, if but Ob Nixilis, the Fallen is pretty cool too and could easily get out of control but could easily die before then too...while the pharaoh would still serve me in death. It's something I'm still thinking about.
Massacre Wurm is good and all but since it only has 5 toughness it can be Dismember ed and that's a serious problem for me.
Sorin Markov very well may be the future planeswalker of this deck, but I can't say anything for sure before Innistrad.

Solid deck indeed. I saw another MBC deck that use Swiftfoot Boots instead of Lashwrithe . I think it's a great idea to give your guys hexproof and haste than just a power boost. Can even take your opponent by surprise. You might want to toy around the card.
Anyway, +1 from me.
