Downside to him is damage must be dealt this turn to play him, he is legendary so he can become a dead draw. That and his exact mana cost can sometimes get in the way

He's never a dead draw imo, because it means you have a fricking 6/6 flying trampling sonovabitch that's wildly underused and helps you summon the rest of your awesome creatures alive on the battlefield. and if by turn 4 you're not doing any direct damage to your opponent you're doing rakdos wrong
the specific cost is a bummer, but you have 8 duel colored lands in your deck, so it should be ok

But he's only a Fricking 6/6 flying trampling sonovabich if you can get him on the field. Rakdos will only help you if you're already winning, if you're playing from behind and topdeck him you probably will never be able to land him.

That is why you need Rakdos, Lord of Riots butler, Lobber Crew . Some one has to open the door for the master. :p I have a deck in which I use those two in combination with Master of Cruelties . Life gain decks don't mean anything to me. Haha.

That is of course, only if you would like to run Rakdos, Lord of Riots
