You slip in between the trees, with a cautious glance behind you, wairy of followers. You had it on a trustworthy source that the nearby river held a powerful secret. You shake in excitement. The River's secret could make you rich beyond your wildest dreams. This dream is what spurs you on.

You probe the forest, sneaking from tree to tree as you near the murky river. Stepping over the massive webwork of roots that covered the ground like a net, you see the fabled river. The water is murky but, according to your source this is a ruise to hide the treasure below the surface. A thick layer of moss coats the riverbank where the cattails don't rise to claim the area.

A soft whisper fills the air. The whisper is a sign, you're nearing your destination. The whisper changes and the air is silent for a moment and then filled once again, but this time with a haunting melody. The calm water's surface is broke as a beautiful women rises from the depths.

You find yourself paralyzed staring at her beauty. She seems to glow in the pale moonlight. You attempt to take a step forward but find that your feet don't respond. You start to panic as she looks at you, a smile playing at her lips. In a foreign language, the lady sings and steps onto to riverbank. Instead of human legs, her lower body is that of a seal.

A Selkie! Your mind registers this just as the selkie's song begins to raise in volume. You feel a funny feeling in your legs and you start to worry. You still can't move. Your mind thinks back to the treasure of dream as you realise this was the River's secret. You wish you hadn't come out tonight just as the selkie's spellsong finishes.

The interloper disappears from sight and the Selkie smiles again.
