lamogio: It is hard to argue with adding Chromatic Lantern as another rock. I will have to see if I can fit it in. I think I just have to try out the deck first before I move my mana base around to much.
CaptSillva: Thank you for the suggestions. Do you have a Scarab list yourself?
Necromancer's Stockpile is fairly interesting. It if you have a easy way to reanimate, there is no real downside here.
Liliana, Heretical Healer Flip: Although she is not a Zombie, all of her Planeswalker abilities work well with the deck. I will keep my eyes out for a copy.
From Under the Floorboards: At first glance, three creatures for the price of one card seems ok. However, this is pretty back if you stop and think about it. However, people will argue the Madness ability makes it worth including... but just look at Army of the Damned. 8cmc = 13 creatures. Floorboards says 8cmc = 5 creatures... Pretty bad, even compared to flashback Army of the Damned. This card is to situational, and kind of lackluster.
Liliana's Mastery is not bad, but I would rather stick with creature Lords that I can reanimate.
Thank you again for the feedback! Don't forget to +1 if you like the deck!!!

VexenX I don't have a Scarab list of my own, but I have put together some zombie lists in the past.
From Under the Floorboards is just a stronger early game play than Army is generally. Army takes up a lot of mana and the tokens come into play tapped which makes it a very slow card. Five mana for three 2/2s with the addition of 3 life will help keep you stable early so you can get to your late game. If the madness effect comes into play, that is just more value.
What makes Liliana's Mastery so powerful is the fact that it is not a creature. It is a lord that is far harder to remove since most board clears have no effect on it. On top of that it comes down with two 3/3s for just five mana. It literally has no downside.
On a side note I just noticed that you don't have either Zombie Apocalypse or Patriarch's Bidding in your deck. Something else to consider.

These are all very good suggestions, but the real problem is what should I cut?... Lol

These are the weakest cards on the list that I can see Corpse Harvester, Vengeful Dead, Black Market, and Memory Erosion. They either cost to much, are too slow, or just don't do enough.

Have you heard of Paradox Haze? It works nicely with The Scarab God's first ability. As far as cuts go, it seems you already have a fairly tight list. Perhaps Memory Erosion?

Phyrexian Altar is a good card to have in here. Not only does it provide colored mana for sacking tokens but if you have Gravecrawler on the field its infinite sack/reanimate. With Diregraf Captain or Vengeful Dead you win right there. Noxious Ghoul acts as a zombie friendly boardwipe.

Sorry about the double post but I forgot to mention Death Baron. Deathtouch tokens are scary.
June 26, 2017 9:37 a.m.
GraveLordNito: Paradox Haze is a card I have been thinking about. I'll have to see if I vs squeeze it in.
The_Dark_Adonis: thanks for the suggestions and the upvote! You can post as many times a you want lol.
Phyrexian Altar seems like a sweet combo.. Making the mana a color is a big deal. However, with all the lords, I don't see myself sacking my zombies constantly, but it is at I'll an option.
I removed Noxious Ghoul because it kills my commander, and I don't like when that happens lol.
I already run Death Baron :)

The thing with altar is you can just sack Gravecrawler infinitely for tokens or damage. Also your commander dying is not that big of an issue, since he can get around commander tax most of the time and black has too many mana double effects to really care.
Cloudstone Curio + Rooftop Storm allows for infinite free ETB's for Gary, so long as you cast him with another non-token zombie on the field.

Thank you all so much for the support!!!
We are now the #3 Rated deck for the week! (I think that "Top" List is a weekly thing, idk).

Cool deck +1! I feel like you don't really need your whole deck to be zombies, as The Scarab God just brings them back as zombies. This leaves room for a lot of powerful black and blue cards, maybe Erebos, God of the Dead or Rune-Scarred Demon. Mill cards, such as Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker and Necromaster Dragon could also help your cause a lot. Cheers!

I cannot wait to build this deck. What is your opinion of Mindcrank and Mesmeric Orb? Too much mill? Especially since Mindcrank says loss of life, so that works perfectly with The Scarab God .

ChefSandman says... #14
Shepherd of Rot would be awesome in this deck. It would almost be like double life loss for each zombie you control each turn.
June 27, 2017 5:55 p.m.
Drerner_3: The great thing about The Scarab God is that there are several routes you can take with him. I have seen builds focused on mill, and even some focused on control, and exploiting the damage from his first ability over time. I don't think any of these builds are wrong, and it is hard to say which one is strictly better. My build is more of a well rounded list, with more of a focus on the zombie size of things. All the cards you mentioned seem like good fits with the commander, but I think ti would be difficult to fit is in this type of deck. Even then, the first version of this deck had all the Gods in my colors, but I ultimately had to cut them. Thank you so much for the vote and the support. Do you plan on building a more mill focused build? If you do, please let me know how it runs!!!
maxmcnugget: Ya... Mindcrank is going back in... I did not think about it with the commanders ability.. that is just nuts... lol. What do you think I should remove?! I have a few card on my mind right now. (I am not so sure about Mesmeric Orb though).
ChefSandman: Shepherd of Rot is actually a card I got to playtest. I don't like the idea of hitting myself, but with The Scarab God's ability, we should be ahead of the curve most of the time.
SO, I am currently working on a Primer for this deck!!! It is well underway, and I hope to have it up sometime tomorrow night. I am blown away with all of the support for this deck, and am really grateful for all of the suggestions! As on now, the breakdown for the Primer will be as follows:

What are your thoughts on this format? Anything you think I should add or remove?

Maybe remove Risen Executioner, Im not sure if all the zombie lords would be needed. Also should try fitting in Carrion Feeder as another sac outlet for the Rooftop Storm nonsense.
June 28, 2017 8:25 a.m.
maxmcnugget: I was thinking the same thing about the Zombie lords... I think I will just have to play test it a few times and see how it goes. Also, I am not really looking to include every zombie combo-win out there. Although Gravedigger is in here, it is good for more then comboing off.
The last of my card should arrive today, so I should get some games in soon!

I've been tinkering with a French brew of this, but mostly focusing on life loss/damage. That being said, I have some fun options.
Breathstealer's Crypt is god tier. helps drain your opponents of resources and life while gaining you a litany of options by discarding your own creatures for free. Hoses mass draw decks/toolbox decks.
Even though you run a handful of non-zambles, Noxious Ghoul does some serious work...with your level of recursion wiping all non-zombies just gives you options and a winning swing.
Lord of the Undead and Phyrexian Reclamation / Tortured Existence make Gempalm Polluter's cycle abusable as heck
Tombstone Stairwell serves me pretty well in testing, but I generally see it as a worse Endless Ranks of the Dead
depending on your meta Balthor the Defiled might serve you well, I plan on playing mostly 1 v 1 with this deck so his ability should win me the game whenever I decide to use it, since ive been exiling/stealing all their good pieces the entire game. Otherwise he is just a body version of Living Death for you without requiring any sacrifice
Grimgrin, Corpse-Born is a solid beater that doubles as a free sac outlet and slow creature removal (but efficient), usually him alongside Mikaeus, the Unhallowed and as many Diregraf Captain effects as you can fit ends the game outright (scarab trigger on upkeep then clearing your field can do substantial damage). He even fits your mill strategy with Phenax, God of Deception, just tap/mill/sac/untap/etc. until they are wiped out...milling one more card every time you do so
June 28, 2017 11:09 a.m.
Bababad: Thank you for sharing your French Commander experience! Have you been able to play a few games yet? It seems like a good French list would really exploit the commanders upkeep ability with a control build. Seems solid to me.
I have my list fully built right now, including a stack of extra card that I plan on play testing. Both Noxious Ghoul and Grimgrin, Corpse-Born are at the top of that list. I am also really hoping there are at least a couple zombies worth trying from Hour of Devastation.
WE ARE ONLY 3 VOTES AWAY FROM BEING TO TOP DECK!!! I KNOW WE CAN DO IT!!!

BTW, I am currently working on the Primer so I can get it posted late tonight [while also rewatching Game of Thrones (=] .
June 28, 2017 10 p.m.
Gonna do a ton of testing this weekend, I'll let you know what sticks for me :)
June 28, 2017 10:17 p.m.
Yes, there should be... It is also in my stack of card I got for the deck and want to try and include... 200 card commander deck anyone?! Lol
WE MADE IT TO #1!!! I can't believe how much support I have received from everyone! Every comment and upvote brings a smile to my face, thank you all again. This is just the beginning, let become the best zombie deck on Tappedout! It is about 120 votes!
June 29, 2017 12:20 a.m.
If you need a budget Damnation, Bontu's Last Reckoning might be a good swap.
I see you been putting in and taking out Mindcrank, if you need more ideas of why to put it in, it combos amazing with both The Scarab God and Duskmantle Guildmage first ability. You could swap Memory Erosion.
CaptSillva says... #1
A few cards you could consider are Necromancer's Stockpile, Liliana, Heretical Healer Flip, From Under the Floorboards, and Liliana's Mastery.
