I'm trying to find out what I can improve on my own similar deck. I decided to try Athreos, God of Passage in my version of the deck instead, in addition to lots of life gain.

Any idea of how I could improve it? Oh and by the way +1 on this deck.

+1 for another MBC deck! great card advantage here, why no Alhammarret's Archive? also in my Sheoldred deck (granted, it's a different deck) Rise of the Dark Realms and Living Death do work. Also a fan of Praetor's Grasp and Jester's Cap against combo players or if i know someone rocks Iona.

somedumbjerk I actually never heard of that card, Praetor's Grasp. I definitely will have to get one of those!

Thanks.

somedumbjerk, thanks for the great suggestions. My play group plays a lot of combo deck. Jester's Cap and Praetor's Grasp look like fun ways to hose them haha.

I've thought about Living Death. My fear with that card is that I could end up benefiting my opponents more than myself, especially with all the creatures I'm sending to their graveyards.

Rise of the Dark Realms and Alhammarret's Archive are definitely worthy of consideration.

What do you think can come out of my deck to make room?

Delta-117, I'll take a look at your deck :)

@megamatt13 it really depends on what you consider a flex spot. for me, my playgroup and playstyle, i'd cut Diabolic Tutor and Syphon Mind for Jester's Cap and Alhammarret's Archive. if you want to include living death, all you really honestly need is a bojuka bog or something. but if you start adding utility lands, you'll need Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth and a way to hunt it. honestly, living death is cute but you wipe the board too much after a few gold fishes with your deck. skip it. for Praetor's Grasp i'd cut either one of the wipes or Victim of Night or Wake the Dead. everyone is different though.

Why not Blood Artist or Nekkratal?

Not sure if you are trying to make a budget build or your own version of a black recursion deck, but Sheoldred, Whispering One and Mikaeus, the Unhallowed would work great in this deck. I have actually seen a lot of well built recursion decks with Mikaeus at the helm. Mikaeus would also allow for my consistent recursion for you. Just a couple of thoughts for you.

If you get one, switch that Blood Artist in your maybeboard in over Zulaport Cutthroat. It's a better card.

This deck looks powerful and well tuned. However, no Vampiric Tutor and no Strip Mine? Is it just the lack the physical cards or is there another reason not to play these?
Also, black decks naturally have a hard time interacting with artifacts and enchantments. But since you have access to some tutor effects, a single silverbullet could make a big difference. How about Karn Liberated, All Is Dust, Nevinyrral's Disk or Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger?

Emzed, thanks for the feedback! The only reason I don't have Strip Mine or Vampiric Tutor in here is because I don't own them. I would certainly replace Beseech the Queen with Vampiric Tutor if I get one in the future though :)

As for enchantment and artifact destruction, I used to have Unstable Obelisk and Scour from Existence in here. I found them too expensive for what they do though. I may consider adding Nevinyrral's Disk. I don't like the fact it comes into play tapped, but it may still be worth it. I also like All is Dust, but it doesn't help me out with artifacts since it only gets rid of colored permanents. Karn and Ulamog are also too expensive mana-wise (and Karn $$$-wise).

For the most part I've moved into acceptance that artifact and enchantment removal is a weakness of the deck and chosen to focus on Black's strengths as opposed to trying to compensate for its weaknesses. I don't know if that's the best approach though lol.

Crypt Ghast, Cabal Coffers, Black Market, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, Ashnod's Altar - are you sure you can't cast Ulamog? If there is any way to make it happen, he is certainly worth the effort.

Oh, another budget-friendly but great and flexible option for you would be Praetor's Grasp. It can get you stuff like Sol Ring (essentially a Sisay's Ring), Strip Mine, Animate Dead, Damnation, Demonic Tutor or Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger. If those are cards you can find in your playgroup, it's a really solid card.

I really like your deck, its really focused and seems like it plays good. I was looking at yours trying to get ideas for my wife's deck Sheoldred, Black Plague If you could take a look and tell me what you think :)

Imp's Mischief offers a rather unique effect in black - it can stop a counterspell or protect you from a Swords to Plowshares, Nature's Claim or Treachery. I think it's great and suggest you give it a try.
Personally, i'm not a fan of expensive removal like Silence the Believers. I prefer very cheap ones like Snuff Out, Slaughter Pact, Murderous Cut, Dismember and Ghastly Demise. Their upside is that you can keep casting your expensive haymakers every turn and still have access to removal (to stop that Brago, King Eternal or Rafiq of the Many before they can be equipped with Lightning Greaves or to get a Seedborn Muse off the table before it generates too much value).
Btw, if you are interested in a creature that allows you to interact with artifacts and enchantments, take a look at Steel Hellkite.

I got to say, I love this deck. +1!It really reminds me of my deck. deckhttp://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/we-all-must-make-sacrifices-1/

I would suggest three cards.Nantuko Husk for a sacrifice engine, which pairs well with both Gravecrawler and Genesis Chamber. Genesis chamber will create that many more tokens for you to sack.

Also, since you have so many ETB effect, I would also suggest Conjurer's Closet

This deck is a little insane. You really don't like people having life do you. Jeez! I hope I don't meet you when you have that deck at hand. 5 turn games are what will become of it. This a brilliantly horrible deck and I think you did well yet again no suggestions from me. Sorry.

Have you considered Voldaren Pariah  Flip or Ruthless Disposal? Distended Mindbender certainly seems useful here, as a method of disruption.
