I'm happy you liked my deck, I've been putting a lot of effort and time on it, and it's always good to see other people liking the result of that!
enpc: That one seems useful as well. I think Rite of Replication works different than this one, and both have their own perks. The tokens, or the "wipe proof", besides activating both of them, the vindicate effect!
Another one that I will add to my "must get" list, thanks!

Conjurer's Closet is also a fun flicker card that means you would get to blow something up every turn also Progenitor Mimic could be fun you get more creatures they loose something every turn always a good trade off plus on turn 6 you should have some kind of non basic land to get him out with.

There is always the Grand Architect + Pili-Pala combo for infinite mana.

Mana Confluence or City of Brass instead of Transguild Promenade .

i find that in a scarecrow deck with lots of blue mana to spare a copy of Training Grounds or two might help, of course, the only card it'll effect for you is Scarecrone , so it might not be as helpful to you

I tried making a scarecrow deck before. Have you considered Skeleton Shard ?
June 25, 2014 2:11 a.m.
Wow! Thank you all for all the feedback and votes! :)It really feels good to see that other people find this interesting!
somensjev, you know that I was searching for a card like that one for a long time, and a while ago I found that one, but as you say, since it's only useful for Scarecrone , plus, I'm not having mana issues, since the scarecrows are cheap and I often end having more mana that I can use I left it out.
ClockworkSwordfish, Skeleton Shard is not a bad idea at all, but at the moment, I feel like I have it covered with Scarecrone , Academy Ruins , Buried Ruin , and even Haunted Fengraf .
jakonater Yeah, they are great, thanks for that! The only drawback that I see, is that I'm poor, haha, so, as well as the Cavern of Souls , they are GREAT additions to the deck. City of Brass seems more affordable though.
I think I'm missing a bunch of comments, I will reply as soon as possible. Thanks again guys!

I really love your deck and the strategy that it plays. I love it so much that I actually built a deck very similar to yours based on Reaper King
. After playing with it for a little while, I was just thinking, do you think that Jawbone Skulkin
would be a better fit instead of Heap Doll
? They are exactly the same except for their abilities, and I think that Jawbone might speed up the strategy in the right situation.
The real issue I run into when playing this deck is that when I bring Scarecrone onto the field, I have to wait until my next turn before I can use her ability to bring back Reaper King , to begin the Vindicate, or another scarecrow to activate the Vindicate. Looking at Jawbone, if I have Scuttlemutt on the field, I can use his second ability on Scarecrone, the turn it enters the field, then use Jawbone Skulkin 's ability to give Scarecrone haste, allowing me to activate Scarecrone's second ability in the same turn. Now I know that combo is pretty situational, but I never tend to see myself using Heap Doll 's ability, like ever. Just curious what you think.

RooskyDoosky I'm very happy to read that, honestly. I've put a lot of effort into this deck, and I'm very glad to know that other people enjoy and like this deck that much even to create a customized version. It's an honor!
The idea, at least on paper, seems pretty good. To be honest, from all the MTG scarecrows, the skulkins seemed to me as the most crappy and useless ones, except, maybe, in commander. (Even tough the art is great). But, I must say, in this case, those particular little scarecrows seem interesting.
I mean, your idea won't only work with the Scuttlemutt but also with the Painter's Servant as well.I'm not quite sure to replace them completely tough, since the Heap Doll has its (hers, his?) own perks.
The removal from the cemetery It's probably and underrated ability, but yeah, pretty situational too. That part will be the "bonus", the important part, or the most "usable" part in this deck is the ability to sacrifice it, for free, so you can return it with Scarecrone for the vindicate effect saving mana for something else. Using Scarecrone you can sacrifice them and draw a card, sure, with the cost, (which by the way is pretty low, yeah), but you have another option for that, with the removal.
Well at the end, seems more like a matter of personal preference, but if possible it may be good to combine them both, IDK, I'm gonna take a better look, but I liked the idea!

MaxoBug , I do agree, getting Heap Doll
in the graveyard for free is useful and something that I have exploited while playing this deck. Using this deck, I have been in the situation a couple of times where I can't get Scarecrone
to survive to the next turn to start the Vindicate. I wish there was an easier way to give it haste, because Jawbone Skulkin
does feel possibly too situational, and Heap Doll
's ability might be more consistently useful. I think I am just going to have to pick up some Jawbone's and test them out.
Thanks for the comments!

I love this deck. The only recommendation I would make is Unscythe, Killer of Kings it is impractical...I realize this...but SO much flavor!! Haha. Thank you for a plausible Reaper King build. I really want to build an an EDH deck around him and this deck has great combo ideas, thank you! If I do get it built, would you mind taking a look at it for me?
July 26, 2014 12:47 a.m.
Buddylove Thanks! And thanks for the EDH Deck! I'm planing on building one for EDH as well so I'll be talking a look at it!
Trius_The_Firemind, Scytec Thanks, and yeah, of course I would like to see other different decks as well!
Scytec, yeah, at least in this deck, Is more flavor than anything else! And yeah, I'm not authority on the subject or anything, but is true that I've been "specializing" on scarecrows, but I will like to see another scarecrow deck, so let me know as soon as you upload it.
And thank all of you for the upvotes!

Not sure if this has been recommended or not...but I find Crystal Quarry to be amazing in my EDH deck...so do you think it would have a place here?
August 1, 2014 4:14 p.m.
I mean, It IS really good, and it would have a place here, let's say for casual. The thing is that I wanted to keep it Modern Legal, that's the reason why.

Oh, I am sorry...I didn't know that that card was banned...I guess with cards like Door to Nothingness that makes sense. Sorry

Two cards that might be worth looking at that immediately come to mind are Door of Destinies to keep boosting those 'crows. For the King, himself, I could see Blessing of the Nephilim being an especially beneficial card, although it might be too situational. Things to think about.

Damn, I've been wanting to put this deck together myself for a while but I couldn't think of the best way to so it thanks for paving the way it'll be done soon I'd send you a link if I thought you'd care. Anyway here's the stuff you do care about:1- temperd steel let's face the facts scare crows are weak this card changes that.2- Master Transmuter help you get your king out and activate reaper kings abilities.3- Fabricate tutor your crows

Hey! I hope you don't mind but I used your deck as a base for my deck Don't Fear the Reaper King. There are a few things that I think you should try to fit in, but overall it is an awesome deck! I was trying to make a deck but I was having trouble so I used yours as a base and switched a lot of stuff around to make it the way I thought it would work well.
First of all the thing with me is that all of my friends play hard aggro decks, so I wanted to have a way to either reduce the mana curve or ramp up my mana. I may have done both a bit too much as I am noticing I tend to have a bit TOO much mana now
From playtesting I'd highly suggest you add Grand Architect . In my opinion it's kind of the staple of colour artifact decks, as it allows you to get out creature after creature for pretty cheap, it also works well with Scarecrone since it lets you play its ability for a lot less (not to mention you can tap a creature for mana then sacrifice it and play the ability for 2)
In addition I'd suggest adding Prismatic Omen as it lets you play Reaper King much more reliably, and it can prove useful in other situations.
Also I'd definitely try to add in at least one Ghostway , near end-game it can almost wipe your enemy's entire field!
Anyways, I wouldn't say that this deck is completely fit for anything but casual play, but it is a very useful tool for anyone wanting to make a scarecrow deck based on Reaper King . I commend you, it is very hard when looking at tons of (seemingly bad) artifact creatures to turn them into a viable deck!
P.S. I made my deck using yours for help, so if you make any changes to it and it resembles my deck please tell me and I can switch mine to private, I mentioned you in the start of my description but I don't want to steal your +1's

Hi, sorry for the delay! Thanks guys for all the +1 and comments!
I'll try to address all the recent comments now, wall of text coming!
Scytec: Door to Nothingness seems interesting (and funny), I'm not sure though how to make it fit here.
[email protected], Once upon a time, I was told that Illusionist's Bracers won't work with the Reaper King , don't remember why though. Any insight on this? Thanks. :)
Buckminsterfullerene I like Door of Destinies the most, seems more useful. Thank you!
Mr joker regarding your suggestions, Fabricate is already on the main deck, it always was.Tempered Steel seems like a good alternative to Obelisk of Urd and good complement to Adaptive Automaton and Reaper King 's passive. I may need to decide between that or Door of Destinies .
poorpinkus Thanks a lot for the suggestions as well! And of course I don't mind! I see that you are citing my deck as the source, and I thank you for that. Just once, it bugged me that somebody here copy pasted my deck, changed a few cards, and wrote on the description "after a lot of hard work I made this deck". That comment was in fact the thing that bugged me, but since you are openly saying it, i don't see any issue there, is perfectly fine to get inspiration from somebody else, and even improve their work. In fact, as I said, I did that, I searched for good combos, and tried to combine them in this deck in the best way possible. I will take a look at yours as well!

Its not going to work because its a triggered ability and the bracer's only copy activated abilities for copying triggered abilities we have the Strionic Resonator but im not shure if it fits in this deck... my bad at the time i didn't knew that
