Tasigur, the Golden Fang Control.

The deck revolves around controlling the board with efficient interaction pieces and getting Tasigur on to the battlefield as quickly as possible to start the card advantage engine. It has a lot of disruption and attempts to slow down the game as much as possible. The longer the game the better the chances that we can grind out the win. Winning is primarily achieved via an infinite mana combo (see following sections for how to generate infinite mana and how to use it). Alternatively we can win with Tainted Consultation lines.

Generating infinite mana

- Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal, along with a suitable number of rocks / dorks.

What to do with infinite mana

Infinite coloured mana means infinite Tasigur activations, getting all non-land cards from our library into our hand. From here we can cast any spell not in exile an infinite number of times.


Some specific ways to win:

The general idea is to have as few dead slots as possible in this deck so the win-cons are assembled from cards that are good in other contexts, outside of the combo. Some example ways to pull off the win are:

- Double-Scepter with Swan Song (using Copy Artifact on Dramatic-Scepter) to generate infinite swans and swing for lethal the following turn. Using our now infinite counterspells to protect them.


- Looping Assassin's Trophy to destroy all our opponents' permanents.

Tainted Consultation

- The backup win-condition is Tainted Pact/Demonic Consultation paired with Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. This is a very efficient combo that can win through most stax pieces that commonly see play. It also layers very well with the primary Isochron Scepter combo, giving us two additional tutors to find a missing piece of the combo.

The hours spent browsing many of the decks on here have helped to bring this list to where it is today. Of course the biggest specific acknowledgement has to be Tasigur Seasons Past / Season Pastigur, the primer for which was instrumental in the early stages of putting this deck together.
