Basic Overview
The deck's primary goal is to eventually combo off with Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank in 1 turn as to kill our opponent on the spot. So, how do we go about assembling our combo, protecting it, and winning the game?
First, we have the aforementioned combo of Duskmantle Guildmage and Mindcrank. To support it the deck has a playset of Training Grounds; which, makes the price of activating Duskmantle Guildmage's effect cheaper and therefore easier to win. However, if for some reason the combo fails Training Grounds supports the deck's secondary win condition-a playset of Pack Rat. If the main combo of the deck fails and we switch to the Pack Rat strategy we can discard a lot of dead draws like the combo peices, or extra land or whatever. The entire process will only cost 1 for each token; so, as long as I have cards to discard, there will be a swarm of rats to kill the opponent.
The deck also has 7 transmute spells and with most of the deck and sideboard being 2 cmc and both combo pieces being 2 cmc means that we can tutor up any answer we need from the deck. The tutors are 4 Muddle the Mixture and 3 Dimir Infiltrator. These cards are not just used for their transmute ability either as the former helps protect the combo from the vast majority of hate cards coming it's way. While the latter is used for chip damage or for our third and final way of killing the opponent- an unblockable creature(Dimir Infiltrator or Creeping Tar Pit+Runechanter's Pike.
The rest of the deck are cards that help stall out the opponent/protect the combo and draw cards. The Draw cards are 3x Serum Visions and 2x Thought Scour. The latter is dual purpose as it can trigger the combo when it is online.
The "Interaction" cards are just counter spells/kill spells/ and targeted discard nothing really much to say about them.
This deck needs fine-tuning if anyone is willing to offer critiques, recomendation, etc. Please, comment below! I would love to make this not so janky looking and less like a house of cards any help that would make this deck more reliable and not just a 300$ jank deck would be much appreciated.
