Sorry, I think I jumped the gun on that comment, I see you are still adding to it.

I'm still working on this but I'm trying to make it ready for post rotation so aristocrats, blood artist, lingering souls, wont make an appearance as much as I would like to put them in. I could still use your input and feedback if you're willing to help out!

Yes the upcoming rotation has been a stitch in my side for my Crats deck. I'm torn between two options, both involve splashing Green to a previously all W/B. I'm either going to go Humans and utilize Xathrid Necromancer , or I'm going Enchantments for Ethereal Armor , Unflinching Courage , Sphere of Safety , Murder Investigation , Dying Wish , Blightcaster , Oath of the Ancient Wood , Primeval Bounty , etc. I'm not sure how it's going to turn out, but I don't have a choice since all the cards that make my deck what it is will be rotated out lol.

It's funny you mention enchantments because I was thinking about doing the same except Ethereal Armor , Blightcaster , Deviant Glee , Cryptborn Horror , Xathrid Necromancer , Ajani's Chosen , Phantom General and Auramancer . I can help you with your deck if you can help me with this one lol.

Well your creatures' CMC fluxuates quite a bit. If you're running all your creatures the same CMC, I'd keep Immortal Servitude , but since you could realistically only get back a handful of creatures with it, I'd say take them out and put something better in the 5-6 mana slot (take this from Experience). Maybe some Desecration Demon instead? That card won me a couple matches last FNM. Dude kept sacking creatures to tap him and he eventually ran out of creatures so next turn I swung with him as a 12/12 flying and I believe I had Sorin's emblem as well so he was actually 13/12 lol. He's just a great well-rounded card. Also, since Flames of the Firebrand is rotating soon, I'd go ahead and start working on filling that spot with Shock . I'll come back when I think of some more stuffs.
August 12, 2013 2:11 p.m.
Well I don't think Immortal Servitude will fluctuate too much in my deck, either I pay 2 and get 8 creatures back or I pay 3 and get 8 creatures back. Just depends on the situation and which creatures I need. As for Flames of the Firebrand I'm not sure if you saw but it actually got reprinted for m14. I'll wait for some more feedback =).

Well yes, you have 8 creatures of each mana cost, but how many will be in your graveyard when Servitude hits? 2? 3 at most? At least that was my experience with the card. I even had about 16 creatures at 2 CMC and still only got 3-4 at the most. I suppose it can save you though, I just found it to be too inconsistent. I personally like more High Priest of Penance in their place, or, and this is thinking outside the box now, Deathcult Rogue just because he will be unblockable more often than not, plus he's Human for Xathrid Necromancer . That can be a big help when you can't afford to sac a creature/creatures to Aristocrat. Another Human I thought of is Sin Collector . It's usually a sideboard card, but in this deck any instant/sorc removal goes a long way. Get rid of a pesky burn or counter spell or opposing Dreadbore . Pretty much any given deck will have an inst/sorc for you to EXILE. Corpse Hauler could help you too, and Fiendslayer Paladin should probably be a main choice since he's such a beast. If you can get some ofc. And btw no, I didn't realize they reprinted Flames of the Firebrand , that's excellent.
August 13, 2013 3:13 p.m.
Yeah I think I may go with the Sin Collector over the Deathcult Rogue . Fiendslayer Paladin would be nice but I don't think I have enough support around him in this deck to make it work.

There's a lot of posts here already, so forgive me if this is a double post, but I feel that you don't have a whole lot of justification for Xathrid Necromancer . You don't have any humans in the deck that you want to be sacrificing for the greater good. All of your humans are efficient only when they're on the field, so encouraging them to die hurts your game plan.
I'm also not a fan of Phantom General because he's pretty inefficient. But that's just me.

High Priest of Penance and Boros Reckoner are great for some defense.
hellhole flailer and phantom general dont really fit in this deck. you'd want more humans to work well with xathrid necromancer.
asemble the legion is a great alternative win condition.
sin collector is great as a sideboard card in case your opponent runs lots of instants and sorceries.
also, theres always obzedat, ghost council, or blood baron of vizkopa. both really great cards.

Playable-wise, I think Showstopper is a little subpar. I would replace those with more Assemble the Legion or the new Purphorous, God of the Forge from Theros.

It can be situational but it has some usefulness i'll move it to the maybeboard for now.

I really don't think you want to be running four Act of Treason when you only have four sac effects in the deck. It's kind of a sub optimal card with only four aristocrats. I'd go down to two.
September 5, 2013 10:38 a.m.
Do you think chandra would fit in the deck or no? And do I need more/better instants and sorceries?
September 5, 2013 10:38 a.m.
Blakkhand I was on the fence about Barrage of Expendables , what do you think? I was also considering either Gnawing Zombie or the m14 vampire for sacrifice outlets.
September 5, 2013 10:41 a.m.
In theros, they spoiled a new legendary creature that could work well as an aristocrat.
Tymaret, the Murder King
Legendary Creature Zombie Warrior Rare
1R, Sacrifice another creature: Tymaret, the Murder King deals 2 damage to target player.
1B, Sacrifice a creature: Return Tymaret from your graveyard to your hand.

Ruric thanks for the suggestions, the only thing is that I'm focusing more on getting my tokens from playing spells rather than getting them from playing token spells (if that makes sense). Unfortunately many of the cards in The Expendables II will be rotating out of standard as well =/.
September 5, 2013 11:23 a.m.
Whoops, I forgot cost and P/T. But yeah, he's a RB 2/2.
September 5, 2013 11:39 a.m.
I really think he's the future of RWB aristocrats if they're going to exist at all. He seems really good.
September 5, 2013 11:43 a.m.
be aware its 2nd ability allows him to sac himself , this guy is 1 step away from an infinite combo, but need a card that that can get the 1B from......is there any or we will have to wait to get it?

I'm guessing you're still in the process of building this since you have 26 cards and no lands lol. If you're looking for suggestions, you're running the colors for Falkenrath Aristocrat so that's an obvious choice. Lingering Souls will help you a lot and so will Gather the Townsfolk for Xathrid Necromancer . Most of the cards in your Maybeboard could go in, I'd choose Altar's Reap for sure, Ash Zealot only if you're NOT doing Lingering Souls . Assemble the Legion has big potential and Showstopper synergizes with your creature stealing/saccing. Don't forget Sorin, Lord of Innistrad and Intangible Virtue (way better than Phantom General ). And lastly, you will need one-drops since this is a fast paced build so I recommend Doomed Traveler or Cathedral Sanctifier . Oh and ofc the most important guy, Blood Artist . Good Luck!
