Quicksilver, Growing Ranks is a slow card. I confess that i tried many times. Some of those times i was just forcing it into this deck.

However, it's not a bad card. I guess that if it was a deck of Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, with bigger tokens, this card would pretty much find it's spot.

Sometimes even Parallel Lives and Doubling Season seems to fall in the slow side.

Awesome looking deck, love the flavor and mechanics. Any reason that you're not running Wilt-Leaf Liege?

Miyazeaux i don't play Wilt-Leaf Liege for a long time. Last time i tried, my deck wasn't fast as it is right now. Maybe its time to try it again. I just don't know what to remove for it, what do you suggest?

My first idea is to remove was Citanul Hierophants for it or maybe to try Immaculate Magistrate, because of and old desire of mine to turn this deck into a Elvish Army with splash to White. If i do, Probably i would put:

  1. Wilt-Leaf Liege
  2. Heedless One
  3. Drove of Elves
  4. Skyshroud Poacher
  5. Ezuri, Renegade Leader
  6. Elvish Champion
  7. Eladamri, Lord of Leaves
  8. Asceticism

Btw, there are few creatures that act as Lords that i like to play. They are easily killable or removed from the game. That's why i rather play with anthems like Coat of Arms, Collective Blessing, Mirari's Wake and Beastmaster Ascension than with Lord cards.

If you didn't notice, my Lords are probably there because of a second useful skill that have synergy with my deck. They have skills for mana generation, token generation or even to nerf other creatures (Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite). What i'm trying to tell you is to not rely on +1/+1 buffs that come from creature skills that last as long as the creature remains in the Battlefield because they could be easily removed after you declare your attack. Enchantments and Artifacts tend to last longer and are, by far, more dangerous.

I like, however, to trust in creatures with buffing skills that last till the end of the turn like Mirror Entity, Kamahl, Fist of Krosa or Jazal Goldmane. Those buffs are both reliable and STACKABLE.

Quicksilver i know this infinite Combo. It's pretty much like Earthcraft + Squirrel Nest , wich i played in early versions of this deck.

Both combos are inconsistent, easy to be dealt with and predictable.

Except for Earthcraft, each of those other cards alone, without the combo, are dead draw in the deck.

But thank you for the suggestion, because some other ppl that come here might like to try this combo in their Rhys the Redeemed deck and i want to make this page something where we could create a discussion about our token general.

Karametra, God of Harvests is fantastic at getting your mana going.

Steaditup Even in a token deck with no sinergy (or less than 25% of creature cards)?

What do you suggest me to remove for Karametra, God of Harvests?

I realy think that she would work better in a Gaddock Teeg, Captain Sisay or even in a proper Karametra, God of Harvests deck than in a Rhys the Redeemed/Trostani, Selesnya's Voice token deck.

She really pays for herself over time. You may be right, though. She's likely better in her own deck. Maybe Joraga Treespeaker instead.

April 26, 2015 6:31 a.m.

Treespeaker is really good. Joraga Warcaller too

Steaditup and Karns_Pyromancer let's analyse both cards that you suggest carefully.

Joraga Treespeaker is a little bit slow. I seldom going to have the chance (or mana) to pay 10 mana, in the long run, in order to achiev his second skill. By the way, his buff is selective as it works only on elves. The other creatures/tokens would not benefit from his presence. Besides i already run Citanul Hierophants wich gives a similar skill for only 4 CMC and extends to all creatures without any extra condition.

Joraga Warcaller seems like a good card at first glance. The problem with it and this deck is because this deck is not build to be pure elfball. This deck is a Rhys the Redeemed Token and Elf Hybrid, wich implies that i'll be using other kinds of tokens and abusing the elvish ability to easily swarm and generate mana in order to build a massive army.

Everyone that plays a Rhys the Redeemed deck is aware that in the mid to late game is going to save mana to use Rhys' skill almost every turn. It is a mana sink indeed. So, in a hypothetical situation where i have a deck build solely around elves with some key cards like Immaculate Magistrate and Ezuri, the Renegade Leader, Joraga Warcaller would probably be their first target. On the current version of my deck Joraga can be considered only a situational, high cost and selective buff. And i must say high cost because i would need like 7 CMC, multikicks included, to have the same amount of buff than a 6 CMC Collective Blessing can offer. All this in a Lord creature that, like (the already discussed in a previous post) Wilt-Leaf Liege, i try to avoid at all costs.

However, there are some Rhys the Redeemed decks that runs elfballs and where those cards probably shine. I'd like to reference here one deck that caught my attention by making this kind of Rhys.

Holy s**t that's a lot of f**king Elves. Playtest

What do you think of Shaman of the Forgotten Ways?

Munson nice discussion you are proposing here.

Shaman of Forgotten Ways is a great card. It is totally attuned to be played in EDH. In my deck it would work as a WinCon only. It would not be used on its full potential because less than 25% of my deck is made of creatures. To be honest, its second skill is very expensive in terms of mana and difficult to be used unless i'm already about to win the game. In other words, every planet should be aligned in order to see this effect being used properly.

Probably this card would have more efficiency in decks like Mayael the Anima, Animar, Soul of Elements or Karador, Ghost Chieftain, which are decks with truckloads of beefy creatures that can easily achiev a total of 8 in power without the help of any buff.

My conclusion about Shaman of Forgotten Ways is that it can not help me to win the game (unless i'm already winning). It would have a dull, lackluster and underwhelming performance if it does not match the perfect conditions.

Wow, your deck's presentation is beautiful. The song is great. How do you create those green lines wiith leaves at the middle?

Askani28 Thanks for the support.

I didn't create anything. I just build the page with some .png files that i found around the web and the help of NOTEPAD++. I keep looking for new things to add to improve the flavor.

Right now, i'm having some issues that are in need of my attention, that's why i'm not udpating the description of my deck. However, I keep playing and keep testing and RE-testing cards with this deck.

Next month, everything will be settled then i'll finish this deck at once.

The music just made my day! BTW, I'm pretty sure Canopy Vista is legal cuz I use Prairie Stream in my deck and it doesn't make sense for it to be banned.
