mhegara Their only function is to filter the deck. They are tutors. You spend a tutor to get what you want faster. They also makes your deck faster because everytime you get a land you make your library smaller which improves the chance of getting a good card on your next draw. They are not meta cards here but they really enhances the deck. If you have Wooded Foothills use it.

I'm using Verdant and Marsh because they are the ones that I have at my disposal at the momment. I have them because I have a Ghave, Ayli and a Mazirek in RL paper magic..Whenever you can make you deck flows faster, go for it. This is A Rhys deck. Rhys is not top tier, but it has my collors and my favorite playstyle. Besides, He is a fun commander and I'll try to make it as competitive as possible.

I used to play Concordant Crossroads. This card can really backfire. My small tokes are very dependent on the enchantments of the deck to input pressure. I need to build the table fast and sometimes drawing something like this card is a major setback if I don't have my Tokens buffed by any Anthem effect.

BTW if you notice my deck can generate a LOT of mana. Therefore, I rather use Akroma's Memorial as a mid/late game finisher.

Wildsong First of all thanks a lot for the time taken answering! i really apriciate it.the question wasn't intended to change your list, i felt in love with it and with the deck, i think rhys has one of the best artwork in magic and the foiling is superior. i got Marsh Flats too and i will manage to buy the other fetch. i questioned about Concordant Crossroads because i have it in my collection and i really like the card itself, the art mainly, could i swap it for Earthcraft? or you think the latter isn't changeable.could also Mana Vault be added?

Dope deck. I have a Rhys I have been toying with but have never committed to putting together the deck. I have a a white Darien King of Kjeldor soldier deck and don't want it to be the same thing. The addition of green means lots of awesome mana ramp methinks. Excited to try to build something like this and with the new cards from Guilds of Ravnica.

Yo! I have a Rhys deck as well, and just want to say your deck list is pretty freeken optimized. VERY fine job and great attention to detail. I run winter orb, and Armageddon in mine (kamal/norn combo as well) for added land hate. Any reason you don't run a Flooded Strand?

Hi Quanndo13, the only reason I'm not using more fetch lands is because I already use a few numbers of basic lands to fetch. Can't afford to have more fetch lands than forest or plains to search.

The Kamahl and Elesh combo is pretty nasty, I used to play them with Tooth and Nail. the only reason I removed is because kamahl was never a good card to have in hand or in the battlefied if you didn't have board control to finish with him. He is very expensive as well. If, however, i could afford to remove 2 cards to reintegrate them back on deck, I would.
