The Heroes
Agent of the Fates - He is one of the most prominent heroes in this deck. A 3/2 creature, not only is he fatal to the touch, but he also assassinates enemy creatures when targeted.
Fabled Hero - He is probably the most powerful hero in this deck. A 2/2 with Doublestrike, he hacks through even the toughest of creatures, and he gains a +1/+1 counter when targeted.
Favored Hoplite and Phalanx Leader - These 2 sub-heroes are nothing to scoff at or dismiss. Favored Hoplite, a 1/2 1 drop, gains a +1/+1 counter and complete protection from damage when targeted, making him a worthy adversary even for the toughest of heroes and creatures. Phalanx Leader acts as support for all heroes alike within the deck, as he gives all creatures a +1/+1 counter when targeted. His ability makes heroes such as Agent of the Fates and Fabled Hero that much more powerful.
High Priest of Penance - As a 1/1 Priest, this human may not necessarily be a hero, and certainly doesn't believe in violence. But... when provoked, he has no problem hitting back, and hitting back HARD. He solely serves to protect at all costs, and will take on any force that seeks to oppose him. When powered up, he can quickly become a deadly force to be reckoned with.
Cavalry Pegasus - The white-winged horse of legend, Cavalry Pegasus takes to the skies, allowing all human creatures to gain flying when it attacks. It will be a dark day for the opponent when they realize their imminent doom as an entire army of heroes descends from the skies, wreaking havoc upon them.
Xathrid Necromancer - Not so much of a hero... but when you're playing an Esper Control deck and the opponent drops a Supreme Verdict, when all hope seems to be lost this master of dark arts replaces every human creature with a 2/2 zombie, keeping your side of the board full of threats.
The Empowering Spells
Dauntless Onslaught and Cutthroat Maneuver - These 2 instants are what fuel this team of heroes. Targeting up to two target creatures, multiple heroic abilities can be set off, and some serious damage can be done to the opponent.
Ordeal of Heliod and Ordeal of Erebos - These enchantments can be fully utilized by nearly every hero. Those such as Fabled Hero, Phalanx Leader, and Favored Hoplite all have heroic abilities that will immediately speed up the sacrificing process of these enchantments, meaning that in many cases not only do the heroes get +1/+1 counters, but the alternate sacrificial ability of these enchantments can be activated almost as soon as they are played.
Scourgemark and Read the Bones - Scourgemark powers up heroes and activates heroic, as well as draws a card. Read the Bones is simply great to have to gain card advantage quickly.
Strionic Resonator - The hidden gem within this assembly of heroes, Strionic Resonator can make heroic or other abilities be activated twice simply by tapping it and 2 mana. Almost every creature in this arrangement has a killer ability, so Strionic Resonator should prove to make them insanely resourceful.
