Daedalus19876 But it is VERY easy for a deck like this to just... draw in them ;)

oooh I see. Hmmm..... Your combo does rely on both creatures being in your library when you cast Synthetic Destiny in order to work, so I would wonder if this becomes a dead combo if you draw either creature before you are able to get it off. You do have your tutors to try to find the spell but can become broken if you pull one too soon. So I guess at that point its a choice of the slightly riskier game finisher, or if you want to have the more consistent card draw from Forgotten Creation. I'm not sure what would be a good replacement for him as there are so many strong cards in the deck already.

I honestly think that Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius is still a very nice way to draw cards because it says, "deals damage", not "deals combat damage". It's a red and a blue to deal a damage and draw a card. That's really good for a draw-heavy deck.

Molten Psyche is definitely worth considering you seem to have a lot of artifacts so the second effect is most likely relevant at some point

wereotter: In my IRL list he might replace Wheel of Fortune or something, because they're expensive and I don't own a second copy currently :/
Workman4137: I'm just not willing to pay UR for a card honestly - I can pay 2R for 7 of them after all. Plus, Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius just doesn't do anything the turn he enters, and my deck has too many high-CMC cards already...
Nembrothor: Thanks for the suggestion! :) A very good idea...now, to find slots...

Might as well throw in sphinx's tuteledge since you already kinda have a draw theme.

Daedalus19876 nice list dude. I've been working on one myself! Will get mine on here soon.

I really like your work. I made my first EDH using your "Judgment Day: Avacyn the Purifier", and it's terrific!
Yesterday I got The Locust God at my pre-release event, it got me a lot of wins, and I thought about building and EDH deck around it, and now I found that you built one! It looks pretty good.
I'm looking forward to updates, and how it runs against other decks.
Keep the nice work going!

Stumps6520: Feels a bit win-more shrug If I'm drawing enough cards to make the mill relevant, I'm going to be winning anyway and the mill is somewhat unnecessary. If it said each opponent, I might be more amenable... Thanks for the comment regardless, though! :)
Love-in-Theory and Jamiemac: Thank you both! I've deeply appreciated your help with my other builds - I value your opinion, if you think I can make any improvements :)
MSL2395: I'm honored that I could inspire you! :) I'd love to hear more about how your Archangel Avacyn Flip deck works for you, if you're interesting in sharing haha. Any suggestions for my Avacyn list? ;)
And this list has been working wonderfully so far. I have played 40 games with it, and I've literally won 35 of them (as early as T3, even!). I updated it today, but overall I'm very happy with its current state haha.

Daedalus19876: Avacyn has been working really good, I really like the deck, but the only problem that I have is that sometimes I get a little too short of mana production, but that's because I haven't got the expensive artifacts haha
Lately, my group have started using hard artifact removal and that hurts a lot :(, but I can handle 3 opponents and nuke them with the flip + basilisk's collar damage, they do not expect it!
How do you feel about this new deck? Are you going to tune it? How much competitive do you think it's going to be? I really like the idea of the deck, and it seems fun. I would really like winning out of nowhere with a swarm of locus! hahaha

MSL2395: Yeah, Avacyn started playing much better once I put some real cash into the mana rocks, haha. If you're having problems with artifact spot removal, you could add in Leonin Abunas/Indomitable Archangel/Karmic Justice, perhaps...
Honestly, this new deck is playing amazingly already: I've won, quite literally, 7/8 of the games I have played with it (and I'm playing in a pretty strong meta). Some minor tuning might be in order, but I'm pretty happy already (and I've only been working on it for two weeks). It's even more reliant on expensive mana rocks than Avacyn, though, because it needs them for the Paradox Engine combo-win.
It's on its way to being my most competitive deck - we shall see!
July 11, 2017 2:09 a.m.
Daedalus19876: Nice! I'll take into account your suggestions for Avacyn, thanks!
I'll follow your progress, I'm really excited about playing with this god, and I wanna know its performance, so maybe it's time for Avacyn stop purifying and finally rest.
Would you mind sending me like the essentials cards for this deck? In order to know where to start, because I'm really excited!! hahaha
Fan of your work, keep going!

MSL2395: But Avacyn must never cease purifying! OwO
But seriously, the decks don't have TOO much in common - it's not hard to maintain them both.
Um, lemme think about the essentials here...
You definitely need SOME kind of ramp to get The Locust God out earlier. I'm using the best ramp I can find, along with Paradox Engine. But cheaper cards like Coldsteel Heart and Commander's Sphere can work over expensive options like Mana Crypt in a pinch. Or maybe one-shot rituals like Seething Song...
Other than that, the only "essentials" are hardcore draw effects (and maybe a non-combat win-con or two, if you can't push through damage with creatures for whatever reason). Specific (and mostly cheap) cards that seem like a "must" to me:
Jace's Archivist, Whirlpool Warrior, Consecrated Sphinx, Purphoros, God of the Forge, Winds of Change, Alhammarret's Archive, Brainstorm, Mindmoil, Arjun, the Shifting Flame, Shared Animosity, Kozilek, Butcher of Truth (somewhat interchangeable with Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre), and Magus of the Wheel. Windfall is a good substitute for Wheel of Fortune in a pinch.
And of course Murder of Crows, Ashnod's Altar, and Skullclamp to add some combo wincons ;) Does that help clarify things?
July 11, 2017 3:05 a.m.
Daedalus19876: It really helps, thank you very much! Maybe Avacyn is going to live another day to purify.
What about Fevered Visions? It may help your opponent with cards, but also gives you passive draw (and locusts) and punishes your opponent.
July 11, 2017 3:20 a.m.
Maybe Altar of the Brood or Impact Tremors for an alternate cheap win con?

MSL2395: I'm just worried - I don't want to give my opponents cards when I can help it (hence why Tolarian Winds in here but Windfall is not), because they could draw counterspells or other disruption...Still, I'll consider it! :)
Jamiemac: Oooh, not a bad idea when working on a budget! Between the two, Impact Tremors is the one I'd go for, though.
July 11, 2017 3:35 a.m.
Daedalus19876 Yeah both good budget options but I would definitely choose Impact Tremors.
I'm very tempted to build similar in a grixis shell with Nekusar, the Mindrazer as the general for the black tutors and the Laboratory Maniac Tainted Pact win. Maybe with some reanimate and Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur and the new demon Razaketh, the Foulblooded. Not sure yet.

Hey!
I just wanted to provide the opposite end of the point of view from a horribly degenerate combo players:
On wheels and other effects that 'give your opponents card'. First of all, Wheel of Fortune is one of the single most powerful cards ever printed. While it's not on the same level, Windfall does a pretty god damned good WoF inpression a lot of the time. I would definitely have it in here. On the same token, I'd definitely add a Memory Jar + Academy Ruins package. Those cards are both stupid broken.
I notice you're already playing infinite combos, thus I would strongly suggest Mind over Matter + Temple Bell.
With the amount of cards you're drawing, Psychosis Crawler seems like a weird exclusion.
I hate you for having a foil Frantic Search! Gimme.

Ilnez: Thanks for your comment and input! :)
You may be right on the Memory Jar/Academy Ruins package, I'll try to pick one up. I'm just worried on Windfall, because that's best for a deck that frequently empties its hand quickly...
Mind Over Matter has such a restrictive mana cost, though, and I assume that every opponent will find answers if I make them draw their library...
Psychosis Crawler should probably be in here...any suggestions on what to cut?
I traded for that foily Frantic Search during prerelease. I love it ;)

Sry for formatting on mobile
For the mind over matter combo if you dont want to give opponents cards with bell, you can alqays play azami or arcanis or even archivist to. Speaking of azami, she also goes infinite with locust god and xenograft, or if youve looked at ixalan leaks theres a certain enchantment that works too. Unfortunately xenograft is completely dead without azami, so idk how great that is.

LevahnTaupe: It's SO much mana, and pretty win-more here, TBH.

Rigol: Heck, only ONE card. Synthetic Destiny (or Mass Polymorph) fetches both halves automatically! Haha.
