If you're focusing on getting 1 creature out, I would suggest going with Summoner's Pact or, since Doran, the Siege Tower is legendary, Time of Need . Otherwise, really nice.

BirkaBirkowski Yea, that could very well work. I'm not sure how i didn't come along Time of Need as i pretty much spent the entire night with a friend going through the White/Black/Green database on Magic.Info looking for spell ideas. I think Time Of Need would work fine. It'd also allow me to pull my Sapling if i already had Doran.

I LOVE THIS DECK! I've always feared seeing Doran, the Siege Tower creeping into my format of choice. He has long been regarded as a gamebreaking Commander, but you have moved him into Modern with a lot of force. This deck deserves a lot more +1's and attention than it has. A masterful brew that would shake up any playgroup or small tourney. It's looking a little vulnerable for a GP, but could see quite a bit of success I think, especially if you can tutor up Doran without hurting your list too much.

My only stipulation is with my first glance at the mana pool, but I have a biased view of mana and recognize that the charge counters will rarely need to be consumed. Your mana looks a lot better than I thought at first, so don't worry too much about that.

Loving this. +1 from me.

LittleLeaf GP? Forgive me, but I'm not sure what that means. I've never really learned a lot of the terms that go along with magic. Pretty much just been taught along the way with friends. And yea, with the amount of life i have, i should never really be in fear of losing One life from Murmuring Bosk

By GP I mean Grand Prix. Sorry about that :P And my concerns about the mana pool stem from the fact that the land base is typically comprised of fetch lands and shock lands. (Optimal fetches for your colours would include Marsh Flats , Misty Rainforest , or Verdant Catacombs ; Shocks would include Overgrown Tomb , Temple Garden , and Godless Shrine )

Most of your lands come in tapped, which is usually a near suicidal aspect of a deck. However, your deck isn't punished too hard by this, because it's not an incredibly responsive or interactive deck; it wants to proceed with one of the most novel and explosive plans I've ever seen in Modern.

You DEFINITELY want at least one of each basic regardless of whether or not you make the above change to your mana pool (which I'm not pressuring you to do). 1x Swamp , Plains , and Forest each. You can't let things like Path to Exile or cheeky Ghost Quarter s go one for one with you.

LittleLeaf The problem with running shock lands is it then puts the deck out of the price range that i want to spend.Heck, i was hesitant even adding in Elspth, but i determined her to be worth it. And the one of each basic land seem like a good idea.

That's the other concern, haha. Price is never something to dismiss when building a list, but I'm just glad that your mana isn't punished too heavily as a result. If it was something like a control deck.... heh.

LittleLeaf Yea, and anyways i've playtested this a fair deal, and i really never have any problems getting Doran, the Siege Tower out on turn 3. I mean, occasionally i'll have to pay a life for Murmuring Bosk but in this deck, losing a life here and there probably won't break you.

SealMassacre Nice card for sure, but i'm not really sure what i would take out for it. If i did add it in, not that i'm against it, what would you suggest i remove? Because that would be rather helpful for me, since my friend plans on running damnation.

@SealMassacre: Timber Protector 's only weakness in this deck seems to be how high he is on the curve. I can imagine showda may consider this, but I am personally undecided on him. VERY cheeky card, but curve concerns are valid even on a mid-lategame deck like this.

then throw a Bosk Banneret in there

SealMassacre As nice as that card is, it wouldn't really help me all that much. The only thing it would do is push my possible 4/5 drops down into my 3/4 drops, which wouldn't really help me much.

Trostani, Selesnya's Voice does the same thing as Angelic Chorus , but costs one less and is a creature to boot! It can also populate your Elspeth tokens or if you want to add a Reach of Branches that as well.

GeminiSpartanX Problem with Trostani, Selesnya's Voice is that it costs 5$ more then Angelic Chorus . Don't take me wrong, it's something i'll think about, but price is also something i need to keep in mind and Reach of Branches would just clog up my 5CmC spot, especially if i stick with Angelic Chorus
