The first deck I want to talk about was designed my friend and testing partner Chris Fennel before Pro Tour Born of the Gods. We called it "The Twiddle Deck."

This deck is super fun to play, and it consistently wins by turn four! So how does the deck work? The idea is to stick either a Utopia Sprawl, Fertile Ground, or the Overgrowth on one of your lands. The deck plays plenty of deck manipulation to find these cards, because without having one on a land you can't combo. Of course it's also okay to have to have multiple of these mana accelerants in play, though you want to always put them on the same land. Utopia Sprawl is the best of the accelerants, being that it is only one mana.

Once you have a land enchanted, then you can start "twiddling." The Twiddle effects in the deck are Twiddle, Dream's Grip, and Hidden Strings. These are the cards that you use to untap your enchanted land to make mana. Yes, this may only be generating an extra one or two mana but that is perfectly fine. It is important to be aware that on rare occasions it can be correct to use one of these effects to tap an opponent's land to prevent interaction with the combo.

While comboing, multiple of the Twiddle effects are used and re-used through Past in Flames. Past in Flames is how the deck actually wins, in a similar fashion to a traditional Storm deck. Ideas Unbound is a great way to fill the graveyard full of spells to flashback, while filtering through your deck. Gifts Ungiven does this as well, and can be used to search for a Past in Flames.

The deck plays enough card drawing effects that once Past in Flames gets going it is pretty easy to Storm your way to victory. All the deck needs is one mana left over after playing Past in Flames, to cast a Twiddle effect, and then re-use all of the other Twiddle effects in the yard. This means untapping your enchanted land a bunch of times to generate a ton of mana. Then, after casting the rest of the spells in your graveyard it will be pretty easy to find the singleton Grapeshot, and cast it for the win. The deck has the ability to Gifts Ungiven for the Grapeshot so you do not need to naturally draw it, you can simply search for it and flash it back with Past in Flames.

I wish I could say the deck was a little better positioned, as it is very fun to play with. The issue is that there are a variety of hate cards in the format, and ways to interact with the deck. However, that doesn't mean the deck isn't competitive. The sideboard is untested, but has most of the cards I think the deck needs to fill in some of the holes after board.
