Sideboard is my focus right now:

What is for sure to keep:

Engineered Explosives

Thrun, the Last Troll

Summoning Trap

I need good anti control and anti token. Life gain is good too but not against control.

I like Boil as anti control they will have islnads and if you play that they will be crippled. Its a turning point card.

I was going to suggest Blood Moon, and then I realized lol.

I would not suggest Fiery Justice SB, why do you have it? It seems an interesting conclusion. I would also suggest some extra 'dig' cards for your combo to come online sooner.

Fiery Justice I initially thought, well it would slaughter 5 tokens, or 2 tokens and a 3/3, or a 2/2 and a planeswalker, and so on so forth. Which it has done and its pretty cool. But if there's anything better that would be cool. They can gain 5 life too and it doesn't matter, my deck goes for control so if tey have no lands and I just need to kill the creatures, then fiery justice suffices.

It's why I main board Engineered Explosives. to kill the twerps that get through initially.

The deck runs fin without a lot of tutoring because often games go to turn 15, which means I have drawn at least 22 of my cards so odds are I have what I need. (theoretically lol... u know sometimes... you draw all your lands before that).

Murmuring Bosk, Sapseep Forest would either of these help? The latter is small life gain ,but its a forest mana source. You often have enough green permanents out to use it consistently. The other is three of the colors you need all at once. They come in tapped ,but hey just running the idea at you for the fun of it.

Boom/Bust?

Boom is under-rated. T3, Boom targeting a land of theirs and one of your fetchlands. - Sac the fetch in response. They lose a land, you don't (also works well if you use Ghost Quarter, killing 2 of their lands). - Late game, when you have a better board position, you use Bust to lock in the win.

It is under heavy consideration. I was thinking of going a bit more white heavy and then running Flagstones of Trokair and then Darksteel Citadel w/ Boom/Bust. Turn 2 lando without losing land on top of Squelch w/ Utopia Sprawl to ramp into 3 mana turn 2 lando would give me many turn 2 lando chances.

note: Arbor Elf for sideboard?

May 6, 2016 5:44 p.m.

elpokitolama says... #22

Took me a while to find the time to check it out, but here it is.

Squelch is plain bad... If you want to hate on search, just run Aven Mindcensor. Trinisphere isn't that good too, you should run Eternal Witness instead, as there's a nice combo with Kiki-jiki or Primal Command. Bauble feels weird, as you do not run anything that has a synergy with it. Remove those and Noxious Revival for a playset of Arbor Elf, you really need a ton of mana to make this deck work.

Crime//punishment forces you to splash a color for a strictly worse Engineered Explosives effect. Just go for Boom/Bust instead.

Finally, Wall of Omens and Thragtusk are feeling a bit out of the place. You should trade those for another two Angels, or at least an Angel and a Kiki-jiki.

'Bout the sideboard now: well, that's where Thragtusk belongs. Also, exept a singleton Thrun it isn't really good as it is now... You should run Vandalblast/Ancient Grudge, Back to Nature, Anger of the Gods, Crumble to Dust, Rest in Peace/Relic of Progenitus. Choose the proportions according to what your meta looks like. :)

Yeah this guy is right. Just run the tried and true methods. Also trinisphere is just not good when you can pay a total of six mana to return a lando and then play it. Plus once they get 3 lands out triniphere isn't at all helpful. Also I just agree with every thing the lama said. Its solid advice. :)
