Oh, you do have a bunch of good decks!:::::LET THE TESTING BEGIN!

That blood crypt wasn't added by me, I didn't change any lands besides adding a few forests.

You probably got unlucky, because I used the same shell as this deck but with very minor replacements like arbor elf instead of birds and bolt instead of sun drop and a few other changes like using batterskull and wurmcoil instead of mimics.

The turn 2 land D should have happened with the same consistency of this deck since that mechanic was virtually unchanged(it's too cool to change).

Actually, the turn 2 land destruction should have been more common, since turn 1 arbor elf and turn 2 utopia sprawl should allow you to play any 3 OR 4 drop, while birds only allows 3 drops.

well, then I got unlucky. Don't get me wrong, I did get some good hands, but what I'm thinking is modify the lands a little to accommodate for Arbor Elf . I changed my deck a little bit if you wanna take a peek.

I added 2 arbor elves on top of the birds and I got good hands every time I had an Arbor elf. I'm gonna continue testing until Arbor is bad, and then I'll test against some of your decks.

I second Batterskull as a win-con, and I'd say to cut Consuming Aberration , Nettlevine Blight and Progenitor Mimic . They're really unnecessary. You've already got plenty of ways to win, and those don't help you in the early-game. Your lands also look a lot neater. My favourite card for boarding against affinity has to be Shattering Spree . It's just really funny.

HAH, I like Shattering Spree .

I am a bit stubborn about Progenitor Mimic and Consuming Aberration . I will reduce them to 1 in my deck with aberration being sideboard. I want some flexibility when searching with Primal Command .

I do agree to rid of Nettlevine Blight . yah, it just, yah... put a lot of thought into it and ya...I agree...

I really like Batterskull and I will begin testing with it while adjusting my mana draw because I don't need black as much.

I think taking out mana leak in place of 3 goblin ruinblasters might work better.

Mana leak is cool, but it's not particularly important to counter anything when, well... They can't really do anything dangerous the first place

How's the deck looking now...Made a bunch of adjustments.

I have been play-testing against your decks Tiktacy. Such as your Red deck wins, Everyone. I won about 7/10.

What is your strongest deck in general, so that I may test mine against it, and what you think would be the best anti-nickiru lando deck.

KingSorin says... #8

I think Remand is better than mana leak, as it cantrips, and the card might as well be in the grave after you play it.

April 22, 2014 10:58 p.m.

Tiktacy says... #9

The strongest is probably either the storm deck or one of the pod decks.

Also, for the love of god, please clear your comments. It's driving me crazy to always have to scroll down to respond then scroll back up.

It looks awesome! I think you should replace one of those dragon guts with a wurmcoil engine, just for the variety. The only big change I really recommend is using Arbor Elf instead of birds. You do realize he combos with utopia sprawl making him essentially give you 2-3 mana per tap, right? While birds only give you one, and is unable to deal damage on his own.

Aside from that, I think your made board looks awesome. The mimic, while not particularly good, is at the very least not likely to get in your way with only one in the deck. Great job on the deck! Don't forget to start posting your seasonal wins from now on so we know all about those people who flipped the table. =)

The last thing I think you need to work on is the sideboard. But that is something you as a player need to research and understand and test like crazy to get right, I can't help you much aside from encouraging you to read articles and look at other pros sideboards. I could throw one together if you wanted, but like I said, you as a player need to understand your decks strengths and weaknesses.

(BTW, I liked your deck so much I added it to my T2 deck list, I need to be prepared to face a crazy home brew like this one if I want to win GPMN!)

I have been considering Remand for a while and haven't been liking it. If I spend the mana to counter something than I'm not destroying a land. Which means, with Remand , they get whatever it was I countered back out, drop a land, use the land, and I merely profit a card. (not worth it)

I don't think Remand will work right. Mana Leak only seemed to be okay as it was a gap filler. If I didn't have lando than counter something to the grave and then continue lando next turn. Remand doesn't work quite like that as they just wip out their card again and grow.

Mana Leak I think is 'slightly' better. But it wasn't good enough anyway so I have it side-boarded for control decks or something.

Ok...

1: how do I clear comments? (still new to this site, the internet for that fact...) I agree, it is very long and my slow internet is getting bogged down every time I come to my deck now...

2: variety sounds good, what are you referring to as 'dragon guts?' I assume Numot, the Devastator ?

3: what's a t2 deck list?

4: thanks for the encouragement. I have never had so many people like my deck. Usually I get cursed at...(I enjoy either, teee heee.)

5: Yah my sideboard needs some work. (A LOT)

6: about Arbor Elf , not sure about him. He depends on having that Utopia Sprawl . Otherwise birds are better because I get that extra red or whatever at the start. I will be considering the elf for a while...

It may be a while before I compile all these (EXPENSIVE) cards, if ever. Ima broke college student, not in debt though... yay! I am really broke and have been fighting with the original model you saw when I first came to this site, if you remember what it was like.

One day though, I, Nickiru, with his 'crazy home brew,' will dominate a modern Grand Prix, MWHAHAHA!!!

1: make an update to the deck(using the green update button).

2: I'm using an apple product, I'm sorry... Yes, that's what I meant.

3: tier 2 deck list is referring to the list of decks under the category of tier 2 on my account.

6: i understand, try using 2 and 2 in that case and see how that works.

I understand, I'm broke as well haha.

April 22, 2014 11:27 p.m.

KingSorin says... #13

Numot is unnecessary. You're spending 2 or 3 more life a game so if you draw a singleton 6-drop which may or may not resolve or be removed that you can cast and use it. It's not worth splashing 2 colours even for an effect that broken. Just use Plow Under or something if you want large land-killers.

April 23, 2014 6:59 p.m.

Tiktacy says... #14

I'm going to have to agree with king sorin, that numot is probably not worth using.

April 23, 2014 7:01 p.m.

nickiru says... #15

Yah, I'm am in a play testing burst right now. I'm testing against Tiktacys and other's decks. Numot, the Devastator was just a test...

Some things up there are being tested too,

Still comment please, but there will be things up there at times that may seem crappy.

April 23, 2014 8:42 p.m.

Tiktacy says... #16

I think you need more land consistency. After a few games, I think I've been totally convinced that 16 lands just isn't enough. I would take out 2 birds and add in 2 more lands.

Also, maybe try using 2 Rain of Tears in place of proginator mimic and 1 primal command. The big problem with mimic is that he will destroy your own lands if your LD creatures come in and your opponent has no targets.

Then replace breeding pools and temple gardens with some kind of swamp to support the change I guess.

April 23, 2014 11:17 p.m.

nickiru says... #17

OH YAH, DUH. I know of Rain of Tears , 3 cost lando, and forgot about it because I could never get the black in my older models. But now, %!$#, heck yah. I like you guys so much, you are just helpin this deck a lot! Thanks LOTS...

(wow, completely forgot about it) Black is so easy to get now.

I am leaning towards increasing the land count, but I want to go through some more play tests and whatnot...thinkin about it...

April 23, 2014 11:34 p.m.

nickiru says... #18

What would you guys think of Silence ?

to my understanding, I play it during their upkeep, or something just before their mainphase, and they can't do anything and I am essentially given a free turn of growth while they sit idle for 1 mana...

Right?

if so, what do you think about it as early disruption so I can grow?

April 24, 2014 1:51 a.m.

KingSorin says... #20

Early-game Remand is silence that cantrips. Late-game Remand is Dismiss for 2 less mana.

April 24, 2014 2:37 a.m.

nickiru says... #21

mmm, I still don't like Remand . I would prefer Mana Leak over it if I wanted a counter. I'm thinking early game: they would be able to put down a land, put what I countered back down next turn, and I gained a mere card which is equivalent to them drawing for their next turn because I didn't do anything else. 'delaying' something's spawn is not what I want. If I were able to counter 'and' destroy land, then maybe.

The only reason I was considering Silence was because it costs 1 mana. I pay 1, then 3 and bomb a land while they didn't do anything.

I'm thinking about it...

April 24, 2014 10:26 a.m.

Tiktacy says... #22

Don't use silence. Just don't, it offers no board progression in exchange for a card and a mana, that's a terrible exchange.

April 24, 2014 10:37 a.m.

nickiru says... #23

yah, been testing it and I ain't to satisfied. For every card in this deck, I want to be 100% on board with it, no iffy-ness or question that it will not interfere more than help me destroy or grow.

Silence , not good enough...

Tiktacy says... #24

I would like to suggest changing the name to "Land Deconstruction Inc." and changing the icon to avalanche riders.

Also, I suggest adding 3 more arbor elfs and take out numot, mimic, and a birds of paradise.

April 24, 2014 11:04 a.m.

nickiru says... #25

what's the 'inc.' mean? Incorporated? am I a business? (very very crappy joke, har not funny)

Can you explain the name's meaning a bit? Deconstruction, ... am I taring down buildings?

But....but...., I like the parasite........................

NO! the birds and mimic stay! I will listen to the wisdom and logic in your suggestions, but I am going to put my foot down on mimic and the birds. Mimic is simply to nice for me to let go of.

as for Arbor Elf ? I actually would take the birds over the elf because they fill the off chance of me not getting the colors I need at start up, which happens often enough that renders the elf a hindrance because he only gives me what my lands can produce. I may put a second elf in there at some point, but I'm happy with one because I draw him later when I need the extra 2 or 3 mana, because of Utopia Sprawl , to get the big guns out quicker...

The only thing that I would take 'over' the birds is another 1 cost, noncreature, mana ramp like Utopia Sprawl

It is hard to explain my logic typing... all I can say without writing essays of long boring battle simulated examples, is that through many, many, play tests and real life battles, mimic is just simply a superior card in this deck. I reduced him to 1, so he doesn't get in the way. I search for him and slaughter with an LD combo, or copying Wurmcoil Engine or whatever...

I am agreeing with numot, to rid of him, I'm just testing him.
