What is Horde Magic?

Horde Magic is a multi-player cooperative commander variation in which multiple players attempt to defeat the Horde, a deck that plays itself.

This deck uses some custom rules in addition to the regular rules of Horde Magic in order to be more fun.

Survivors (the players) have 3 turns to set up before the horde takes its first turn. Players are not allowed to attack one another or the Horde during this time.

The Horde takes its turn by revealing cards from the top of its library until it reveals a non-vanilla card. The vanilla cards are cast first, then the non-vanilla card is. If a card has flashback, it is cast for its flashback cost as well.

All cards the Horde controls have haste and must attack each turn if able. The non-Horde players may block whatever creatures they choose. Any unblocked creatures damage each player, so if a Minotaur Abomination is unblocked, each player loses 4 life, an unblocked Liliana's Reaver causes each player to discard a card and and gives the Horde a tapped zombie token for each surviving player, etc.

Creatures with Unearth are Unearthed during the Horde's first main phase, after casting what it drew for the turn

When the Horde reveals and casts a boardwipe, the Survivors get an extra turn to recover.

Damage dealt to the Horde is done as mill.

The Horde loses when it has no cards left in its library and no zombies in play.

Notes:

If the Horde must make a choice of any sort, it is randomized, though it will choose to sacrifice vanilla zombies first if it must sacrifice creatures.

The Horde has infinite mana at its disposal at all times, so cards like Archangel of Tithes and Ghostly Prison have no affect on the Horde.

If the Horde has to name a creature type, it always names Zombies.

Gravepurge and Bone Harvest put all creatures in the Horde's graveyard on top of it's library in a random order

Cards that break the horde (Teferi's Moat, Mind Grind, Extirpate, etc) are not allowed.

Players are still supposed to defeat each other to win the game. Whether you beat the horde first, or knock out other players is up to you.
