I'm gonna playtest a little bit with your suggestion. The general reason I had it with only 3 amalgam is because it while powerful, it rarely wins games on it's own. It's great against control, but decks that can block it, are more difficult. Geralf's Masterpiece is also good against control, but finishes a lot more quickly.
And yes, I couldn't resist the souls reference. I played against Relentless Dead at prerelease, and found it to be exactly as annoying as the swarm of zombies in the parish. Also it's in a church.

This is a cool build! I wonder if Risen Executioner is good enough? He is a lord, and turns on Prized Amalgam, though him and Diregraf Colossus are a little bit at odds about how many creature cards you want in your graveyard. Still, it would probably be nice to buff your dudes lategame, especially Geralf's Masterpiece.
Could be a side-in. I really don't think you want three Rise from the Tides in your SB, if any. It's a cool card, but a massive top-end that will probably be only 3-4 zombies, even if you side in more non-creature spells. Even in a dedicated spells deck you'd probably only want 2 or 1.

I agree the Rise from the tides is a suboptimal card. However, I'm not sure what I would switch out for Risen Executioner in the main. If he's in the sideboard, what decks do I side him in for?
April 6, 2016 12:11 p.m.
My guess is grindy games against something like Esper control/blue black control where it's great to be able to cast him over and over from your graveyard without having to discard cards (since late game you probably won't have 3 cards to chuck). Plus in those grindy games he makes your top deck shambling goblins marginally better, and your Geralfs Masterpieces massive.
He still might not end up being the SB card you need, but I'd give him a chance in testing! Since zombie tribal is midrange-y, you've already got good bodies on things like Prized Amalgam and Masterpiece so buffing them means they'll probably out-trade your opponents stuff. :)

abby315: From what I've seen in play-testing, Risen Executioner has been somewhat underwhelming. I do agree about the recursion aspect though, so I'm testing out Liliana, Heretical Healer Flip for the same position, and finding her to be much better.

Good to know! She seems like a great SB option. Good luck with the deck!

Wouldn't Read the Bones be better in a two colour deck than Painful Truths?
April 10, 2016 3:36 a.m.
@cthumu: I'm actually running a few Foreboding Ruins and Smoldering Marsh for the purpose of turning on Painful Truths. Another option this gives me (that I just haven't had the time to work on)is a more diverse sideboard. I just need to work on it a little
April 10, 2016 10:44 a.m.
Question? What is the point of running red, I mean-I see the Radiant Flames in the SB as-well-as Painful Truths. Would it not just streamline the deck a lot more if you just ran 3x Read the Bones and a few Languish?

On second thought, after doing some playtesting without red, it really is just better for the mana base

Maybe put in Collective Brutality and try some cards that abuse Prized Amalgams ability. So maybe Haunted Dead. If you want to dump stuff in your Graveyard maybe Wailing Ghoul and Liliana's Elite

I am interested in the possibility of Collective Brutality, but I'm not sure what to take out for it. As for haunted dead, Wailing Ghoul, and Liliana's Elite, I'm just not sure what cards in the list I have are worse than them. What would you take out for them?

Liliana's Elite in the sideboard for Radiant Flames against token strategies where you want to go big instead of wide. Take out 2 Compelling Deterrence and both Gisa's Bidding as you dont want to spend 4 for only 2 Tokens. Put in 2 Collective Brutality and 2 Haunted Dead. The "combo" would be pitch haunted dead and Prized Amalgam to Collective Brutality and the revive Haunted Dead and get a spirit token and amalgam too.

@Brawlor5472 I'm going to try these suggestions out. Thank you for the time and thought you put into it, I genuinely appreciate it.

Also gotta ask, how do you get the link to my profile like that? lol. Also haunted dead isn't in tappedout yet. gross
July 15, 2016 2:52 p.m. Edited.
I honestly think you should play Graf Harvest and maybe Nantuko Husk
July 15, 2016 8:22 p.m.
lewiswtsn I just took out Nantuko Husk to test Liliana, the Last Hope today. So I'll have to try a little more to see which one is better. Graf harvest is just so slow and is somewhat of a nonbo with Diregraf Colossus.
July 15, 2016 8:25 p.m.
I just feel that the deck needs more to do on turn one
July 15, 2016 8:29 p.m.
Considering your color demands are pretty light, how about 1-2 Geier Reach Sanitarium for more filtering power and to get those good zambies in the 'yard?

I'd recommend Drownyard Temple > Geier Reach Sanitarium. With all the zombie discard outlets you may be land short if you get it into the graveyard through one of the draw/discard effects. Drownyard allows you to get it back if needed. See my zombies deck:

Geralf's Masterpiece would fit this deck well. You'll want a lot of cards in the graveyard, and the ability to bring him back at end of opponents turn is pretty brutal.
It would at least be a good SB card to deal with fliers.

My one suggestion would be probably take out one of the Geralf's Masterpiece so you can fit in a fourth Prized Amalgam. The masterpiece is probably something you want as a curve-topper and three of them feels like too much.
Also, +1 for the Dark Souls reference. Not sure if it was intentional or not.
