The Ur-Dragon: Dragon Power

Commander / EDH Aggro Dragons Flying Midrange

Greetings!

This is a nice, high-powered Dragon deck to have fun in EDH matches, 1 v 1 or multiplayer-wise. Lots of synergies are included, but (intentionelly) no auto-win combos. It appears somewhat expensive due to the old duals included, but these can of course be substituted for the cheaper versions. I just happened to assemble a complete set of them some time ago, so they are now put to use.

Generally, the deck works by ramping very quickly in order to get some fast Dragon beatdown potential on the table. A lot of focus was also placed on useful Dragon abilities and synergies like ETB triggers (Scourge of Valkas, Lathliss, Dragon Queen etc.), or collective effects (Utvara Hellkite, Silumgar, the Drifting Death etc.) in order to get the most use out of them, and for flexibility. Extremely valuable in that regard are Wild Pair, Zirilan of the Claw and Tiamat. The latter offers the potential Karrthus, Tyrant of Jund + Shields of Velis Vel "combo", even if they are not very useful alone (and in Karrthus' case even dangerous to have in your Dragon deck). For now however, i relegated them to the maybe zone, because of new must-have additions from Battle for Baldur's Gate like Miirym et al.

Anyway, while this deck is not meant to be maxed out in competitive efficiency, it is still powerful and fun to play in casual games.
