My idea is to create the most ultimately motherfucking annoying deck ever to face off:
The pure UW Hatebears: Spell Lockers!
Since MTG has been shifting from more of a mechanics based game to more of a creature-trade game type more like Hearthstone, I've been thinking about creating this "aggroey" control deck that will focus on controlling the board, the spells your opponents play by applying the well known taxes of cards like Thalia, Guardian of Thraben, the pure locker guy
Meddling Mage
, the daze with gills Cursecatcher and the new wave of nasty little fuckers like Spell Queller and
Sanctum Prelate
, not to mention the white imperial recruiter: Recruiter of the Guard.
My idea is to also pack either Phyrexian Dreadnought + Stifle
or Batterskull
+
Stoneforge Mystic
to assure inevitability and fast/versatile clocks, so a great portion of my sideboard is dedicated to that specific strategy and the other spots are against certain kinds of decks and global answers. I think the most beneficial number for
Sanctum Prelate
is 2 when playing this deck, because it will shut out stuff like Abrupt Decay, Burning Wish, Hymn to Tourach, but keep in mind that it is always best to adapt against your opponents deck and choose a number that is the most troublesome for them, even if you get a portion of that hit.
I don't own even half of this deck, but it is intended for online play and just maybe the uprising of a new deck, because Legacy feels like a dream for builders with these many new cards with synergies and new combos with the old fellas, I just feel so much tempted to experiment new and different stuff on Legacy anyways!
All feedback or suggestions are very welcome!
