I like the deck. +1 for you. I just bought the preconstructed deck the other day. I have one deck up as well if you would be willing to check it out. My play group is more centered around 1v1 gameplay. I guess we play similar to the French, but follow the American banlist. Haha.

Erich_Zann thanks for the +1, I play too mainly in 1vs1, but sometimes in a group of 3 or 4. It is a really fun deck :)

I must say, I'm a fan. For the sake of a whole buttload of damage while sparing your own from it, consider maybe Reconnaissance? Look into its rulings; it will astound you! lol

I'd second that. Mathas, Fiend Seeker is too slow to be good. If you were able to place a counter during your turn, rather than the end step, he'd be a better card.

NiTRoBoX, to be honest I would look at a particular card in your maybeboard and include him in the deck. I'm talking about Yahenni, Undying Partisan. There is no reason why he shouldn't be in your deck right now. He makes great use of token generation. You should also add more token generation, such as: Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle and Legion's Landing. If you do add in Authority of the Consuls it will allow you to be more aggressive so you can use Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle on a more consistent basis, however, you do have Cover of Darkness which works better, so i'm not sure if Authority of the Consuls is necessary. Plus vampires you own will have flying or deathtouch which will land you some damage anyway. Legion's Landing is a must. It transforms into a land after 3 vampires you control attack in a single turn. That land produces and has a tap ability that produces 1/1 vampire tokens with lifelink. These will allow you to use cards like Attrition, Yahenni, Undying Partisan and Indulgent Aristocrat more consistently. I feel as though you may need more sacrifice outlets to make better use of your tokens. Cards like Viscera Seer and Ashnod's Altar are great cards in a Papa Markov deck.

Hiya. Quite nice upgrades. Personally i feel Anowon is a bit slow for a vampire build though. If you can look at my list Danse Macabre it'd be very nice/

toastySmorc he isn't slow if you build the deck midrange. I personally feel that Edgar decks work better midrange than a Timmy aggro style.

@NiTRoBoX personally though I feel like the deck can be optimised. Drana's Emissary for example is pretty meh, especially how I don't see a sac engine, along with Grave Pact when you already have an Attrition.

This can be fixed with a Skullclamp and an Ashnod's Altar. Both of them are pretty insane EDH staples, and the Clamp can get you a lot of value off of the 1/1s Edgar makes, while the Altar gives you access to Rout which I believe is better than Merciless Eviction (I assume you'd want those vampires back since you're playing reanimator cards) Utter End can also be replaced with a Path or Swords to Plowshares.

Gifted Aetherborn...I mean I know it's a good card, but this is EDH and you have access to Bloodghast, why don't you use it?

This one is purely personal preference, but I like Coat of Arms much more than DoD jus because it gives the instant board buff that can win games.

Also (and this is pretty big) I feel like your deck isn't very focussed on Vampire synergy. For example, what is Sorin, Grim Nemesis doing in here when he only synergises with his ultimate? You can replace him w Ob Nixilis Reignited for the card draw and removal utility. Westvale Abbey  ^Flip is another one. I get that the Demon is really cool and it's just a land so you can probably keep it, but it feels really out of place. Also, Contagion Engine just feels out of place too. The proliferate effect is not worth the mana cost and the 4 mana each turn imo.

Gifted Aetherborn is a great card, even in EDH. Bloodghast is good to use as a sac fodder, but his haste ability doesn't trigger until an opponent is at 10 life and can't block, so he isn't as useful in EDH as he is in other formats.

If he needs more sac outlets then I agree that Ashnod's Altar is a great choice. He should also play Eldrazi Monument. Sac a token, +1/+1 Flying, Indestructible. Why wouldn't you.

My personal opinion is why play cards that make you gain life if you're not playing the Sanguine Bond+ Exquisite Blood infinite combo? Gaining life just becomes unnecessary. You also need more protection spells. Boros Charm is a great card. Rootborn Defenses isn't bad either. A board wipe spell for Tribal I'd recommend is Kindred Dominance. It's 7 cmc, sure, however, it will work in your deck.

Erich_Zann meh I may be biased, but I've always seen Gifted Aetherborn as a worse Nighthawk for some reason. Probably because Nighthawk is one of my favourite cheap cards.

Personally I feel Eldrazi Monument is a bit greedy, but definitely a good idea. Definitely a way to replace Coat of Arms against other tribal decks.

Protection spells are good. There are quite a few "Win-More" cards in the deck that can easily be replaced with utility spells to make the deck more streamlined. Thanks for recommending Boros Charm btw. I should have that for my build :).

I don't want to be focused on tokens sacrifice too much, I use Drana's Emissary as I wanted some more creatures with flying plus her ability gives me life no matter what and it can work with Well of Lost Dreams or pay for cards like Phyrexian Arena.
I played a game yesterday 1vs1, vs selesnya tokens deck and this card actually saved me because of the life gain effect, and I won the game. But I agree this is far from being a good card.

I don't really like Bloodghast and as Erich_Zann mentioned its a good sac source but beside that I prefer something else, if Edgar gave a vampire token for each time a vampire non-token creature enters the battlefield then it will be a must have but it would be way too OP.. heh
Also the price on that card is too high $20 I prefer to get something more useful for that money.. :\
About Sorin I'm still not sure about either of them, need to test and see, the one you mentioned is good as his +1 is a card draw, and his -x is good vs other planewalkers. It isn't a bad card in general, but yes as I said need to test more.
Westvale Abbey  ^Flip is good land for such a deck in general, as it is an easy flip, in terms of flavor you can easily think of it as a dark god of the vampires or something, as he is a Demon Prince.
Contagion Engine didn't have a chance to play it yet, but I have it as sort of Black Sun's Zenith, sure for 6 cmc the sun will do -4/-4 but this will also be on my creatures, and I do have some small creatures and the tokens are 1/1.

Erich_Zann, I don't use Exquisite Blood + Sanguine Bond as my group of play doesn't really like infinity combos.
Boros Charm might be an option didn't thought about this one. But its quite hard to anticipate a board wipe '..
I use Harsh Mercy as Kindred Dominance quite high CMC. But it surely can be a good finisher, will get a copy of it for sure for anycase.
I will get a copy of Ashnod's Altar to try it out but I don't really like Eldrazi Monument for it I will need to be more token oriented for sure. I do have a copy of Mavren Fein, Dusk Apostle I will see how to put him in, and I can't get Legion's Landing as it out of stock in the shop I buy, thought I was going to include it.

Maybe Vanquisher's Banner might be a good alternative for Eldrazi Monument or Door of Destinies.
I have a copy of Enlightened Tutor might include it too, and maybe Hour of Revelation.
Mirage Mirror is an interesting card as well, and Campaign of Vengeance but it's quite slow..
And yes, for sure Gifted Aetherborn is a worse version of Vampire Nighthawk but we can't have 2x of Vampire Nighthawk :) and Gifted Aetherborn is pretty close.

Hmm yeah I used to run Mavrein Fein, but I realised he just wasn't impactful enough. Glad to hear that your deck runs well. If you think lifegain is important then I'd recommend going down a more lifelink path, maybe even some Aetherflux Reservoir shenanigans if you know what Im saying XD.

I second the Shared Animosity suggestion. That card is bonkers. Cool vamps deck, dude!
