The Van Saar Governor's Finest

Unknown

While almost everybody in the world will not recognize this deck's theme and significance at all, the few close friends I designed it for will quickly realize it symbolizes Solarchos and his army of loyal soldiers.

While I have been careful to never use MtG cards that have names of places of people on them in these theme decks, when I saw that there were a few cards depicting soldiers actually equipped with or using Firearms, I made a special exception.

The deck is principally composed of a representation of the dutiful and brave Van Saar citizen-soldiers, who are loyal to their nation and superiors to such a commendable extent it smacks of White Mana. While both the IG 40K army and the early turns of MtG are both all about peons dying, a Van Saar soldier need never fear that they will be completely abandoned to be squished, stabbed, and immolated with no hope of victory. Thus, even though this deck contains plenty of references of the extreme sacrifices WH-styled troopers will likely have to make in a war, there's also a good bit of ways that can allow the brave soldiers to win the day.

Backing them up are several cards representing the morale boost and unyielding might gained by fielding a Space Marine. The powerful Inu-Kit is referenced, and provides a win condition too. (I had 4 other Kitsune in the deck representing family, but let's face it, those kids would never be fighting.) You'll also find some cards referencing what's going to happen to the enemy as soon as Solarchos' super-overkill planet-orbiting reinforcements arrive.
