I agree with the others-stonehewer giant needs to be in here. He tutors AND equips any artifact for you...

@Raab8, I've already decided to add the giant, it's just a matter of acquiring one. What should I take out for it?

I'm thinking about removing Galepowder Mage , Myr Retriever , Evolution Charm , Etched Champion , Ondu Giant , and Kor Cartographer . Can anyone give me pros/cons of each?

Also, I'm also thinking about adding in Taj-Nar Swordsmith . Another equipment tutor would be nice, but this one might be too expensive. Thoughts?

It's edh. A lot of stuff seems expensive, but considering the swordsmith can fetch up something as cheap as Basilisk Collar or possibly Skullclamp and have a fair effect on the board by doing so, i

t's definitely worth a try. I'd also consider running Leonin Shikari and Brass Squire both allowing you to rattlesnake opponents with surprise equips. Surprised you aren't runnung the Helm of Kaldra and Shield of Kaldra while you ARE running Darksteel Plate and Sword of Vengeance which kinda do the same work, except they count as a mini-combo together with Sword of Kaldra

+1.

Grappling Hook , Grafted Exoskeleton , Inquisitor's Flail , and Silverblade Paladin let you double the amount of damage you're doing with your commander.

Skyblinder Staff and Bower Passage basically make it so that only creature with reach can block your commander.

Trailblazer's Boots and Spirit en-Dal both make Sigarda, Host of Herons practically unblockable in every situation.

Other than those, I suggest Blessings of Nature and Increasing Savagery to make her bigger without using a permanent that can be blown up with a Naturalize .

I'd like to see either more unblockable or more raw power. You seem to be able to get trample consistently, but I think dropping some trample artifacts for unblockable artifacts would be more effective. Rogue's Passage would be another good way to get unblockable, and Strip Mine usually has a good target.

Oh my, time to respond to some comments:

@gheridarigaaz, Taj-Nar Swordsmith is really expensive, but I'm in need of equipment tutors, so he just might make the cut. Leonin Shikari and Brass Squire have good effects, but I don't think I have the space to add them in. As for your other equipment suggestions, they're in there now, check it out!

@mstancea, I used to have both Grappling Hook and Inquisitor's Flail in here, but the hook turned out to be too expensive to play and equip for what it does, and flail turned out to be a liability for Sig. Grafted Exoskeleton would just give Sig an Achilles' heel, which is why I don't have it in here.

Silverblade Paladin I would definitely put in here, once I get a copy.

The other cards you suggested I don't have room for, since their effects are too narrow or not big enough.

@Arsene, Sig already has flying, which is in most cases good evasion. I would add the two lands you suggested though, just for more land utility. Thanks!

This is a great deck by the way, it might've inspire my next edh. I also feel like Mirari's Wake should be in every single deck running g/w.

Krayhaft says... #8

Thanks. I want to put in Mirari's Wake , but I don't currently own one.

So I've been working on my own Sigarda EDH now (thanks for helping me piss away more money I don't have), and one equipment I've found to be an absolute bomb is O-Naginata . Super cheap and does a lot.

I would cut Cultivate for Skyshroud Claim . It puts the lands directly onto the battlefield and can fetch duals.

@xXBuddhaXx, thanks! Yes, the cards in the maybeboard I have already decided to add, I just need to acquire them. I recently got a copy of Umezawa's Jitte , and am trying to get a Batterskull , so I just need help pulling cards out. Any suggestions for what to take out, or for new things to put in?

First off, why run Day of Judgment when you can run Wrath of God ? I think that Evolution Charm is kind of weak here, and in my decks I've been fairly unimpressed with Congregation at Dawn . I would replace that with Eladamri's Call . Maybe Return to Dust could go in here. It's insanely powerful and in EDH there are a lot of targets. Finally, Kor Haven , Horizon Canopy and Rogue's Passage are all strong choices for lands.

February 27, 2014 8:45 p.m.

Krayhaft says... #16

@ProfessorDucky, I would run both WoG and DoJ, but I don't have a spare WoG.

Evolution Charm admittedly I have not drawn too much of in my games, but I'm never unhappy to see it when I do. I use it mainly to tutor for lands if I'm land screwed, or to get back a dead creature that I need.

If I had Eladamri's Call , I would run that alongside Congregation at Dawn . I agree that the former is a more immediate effect, but the latter lets me find a bunch of creatures that I can use, and sets up my draws for them (it's weak vs a mill strategy, but my meta doesn't have those yet).

Return to Dust I would run if I can trade for one, again. I'm pretty satisfied with just Beast Within and Krosan Grip , because those two offer something more. I would like a spell that exiles artifacts and enchantments though, so it might have a place here.

I will add Rogue's Passage . It is a good suggestion, thank you.

Kor Haven I would run, but again I don't have one.

Horizon Canopy I don't want to run, just because I don't want to buy one for this deck. It's too much money for a small effect.

we have very similar decks, I was just wondering why you chose to go artifact and not enchantment based? if it because the people you play against have an easy time removing enchantments but not artifacts? Food for thought, plus if you go enchantment based you can run cards like Argothian Enchantress , Kor Spiritdancer , Enchantress's Presence , Verduran Enchantress and one more that I can't remember.

I feel that for voltron decks in general, you need to commit to either a pure aura or pure equipment strategy, because it opens up so many slots for artifact or enchantment support.

I went with artifact equipments because they are much more versatile than enchantments. I am able to move them around my creatures if I can't get Sig out on the field at the time, and they aren't destroyed by Evacuation -style effects. If the creature they're attached to dies, I can just move the equipment to another creature, which is something I cannot do with auras.

And equipments have their own support cards, such as Stoneforge Mystic , Stonehewer Giant , and Steelshaper's Gift . While I think auras and equipments are both viable, I think equipments are more versatile.

@ Kornex2000 Hey Kron u should check out my hybrid edition of Sigarda Voltron style deck Sigarda, Power Level Over 9000!!!. I carefully handed pick every card to ensure Sigardas Victory no matter what.

But i agree with ProfessorDucky Puresteel Paladin owns in this kind of build.... he Does WORK in my deck.

@ Krayhaft hey uhh u should really look for a Kor Haven and a Yavimaya Hollow

Man i need a High Market ....

March 7, 2014 8:55 p.m.

Krayhaft says... #21

These things have been brought up before.

Elvish Visionary is Puresteel Paladin for now. I do not have a paladin.

I have neither Kor Haven nor Yavimaya Hollow , but I would definitely add them in if I had them.

I have not had any issues where my commander was about to be tucked yet, but I do have a High Market to put in.

Dauntless Escort is at best a one-shot ability which I would use to save Sigarda. In terms of creatures, I want guys that can either provide more sustained value, or have valuable etb effects, and escort doesn't provide either. Having to have him out on the field in the first place also tips off opponents to what you can do, which is not something I want to do.

I just noticed that you don't have Condemn in here. One of the only cards that really deals with commanders along with Darksteel Mutation and Terminus

March 7, 2014 11:11 p.m.

Krayhaft says... #25

Condemn is iffy. I don't like how it will only work on attacking creatures. There are worse creatures that don't have to attack in order to impact the board, as well as crucial non-voltron commanders that do not need to attack, that I will want to remove. I would rather have a less restrictive removal spell than a Condemn .

Darksteel Mutation is an interesting card. I do not like how it costs 2 mana and sorcery-speed, but it might be worth including. But I think overall, my removal suite is enough for now.
