The Washer and Drier (BRAND NEW!)

Modern* Aggro Burn Competitive UR (Izzet)

TheSocialistCactus

Introducing the U/R Washer and Drier, designed to clean filthy casuals right out of your local shop!

Ever have that one friend that has that one dirty B/W life leech deck you just can't stand? Tired of all of the vomit all over your shirt after going 0-2 with ANOTHER damn Eldrazi ramp deck?

Not anymore.

With this all-new tool, you'll be well equipped to clean all of the filthy peasants right out of your local game store! Plenty of early-game creatures with prowess start by softening their life total, followed by a few pump spells to really break apart all that nasty grime and gunk, then simply mop up with burn and a little more pump! Results guaranteed or your money back! (Not really!)

Here's a card-by-card analysis:

Creatures

  • Monastery Swiftspear: Will often carry this deck through the game.

  • Blistercoil Weird: Pseudo-Prowess, and it untaps. Neat-o.

  • Delver of Secrets: While I hadn't planned to use Delver, it quickly became apparent that running two helps quite a bit when running a 2:3 creature-to-noncreature base.

  • Young Pyromancer: While it may seem out of place, Pyromancer is actually here to give us some advantage over weenie decks and give us some support into mid-late game.

  • Abbot of Keral Keep: Helpful for the pseudo-draw effect and because the prowess ability makes Abbot a nice supporting creature.

  • Stormchaser Mage: Stormchaser Mage is a very powerful card. Not only does he give us defense against flying, the fact that he has haste makes him a great creature to have.

Noncreature

  • Lightning Bolt: Shouldn't even have to explain. Creature removal plus player burn.

  • Slip Through Space: A one-mana cantrip that will activate prowess and make that creature unblockable. Yes, please.

  • Vapor Snag: Deals with pesky blockers while pinging our opponent.

  • Brute Force: Used on a creature with Prowess, essentially gives it +4/+4 until end of turn. Not bad.

  • Titan's Strength: Extra power, also the scry helps.

  • Browbeat: Gives us card advantage or damages our opponent, either helps.

  • Gitaxian Probe: Gives us tactical information about our opponent's hand while giving us card draw and potentially activating a T1 Swiftspear's prowess.

  • Searing Blood: Good small creature removal that damages our opponent.

  • Temur Battle Rage: Activates prowess and effectively doubles damage output. Great card, I need more.

  • Mutagenic Growth: Free buff and activates prowess.

Nonbasic Lands

Match Ups

White WeeniesGreat results. I went 2-0 against a mono-white weenie deck but I noticed it was conspicuously lacking board clears and removal. Thinking I should add counterspells to protect creatures.

Thanks for checking out my first deck! Please leave a comment and an up vote if you liked the deck. I would very much so appreciate feedback from anybody who has advice to offer about the deck.

EDIT: I have heard many times that the deck would be much improved by fetches and/or shock lands, however, I am on a tight budget and I would like not to have to spend any more than $5.00 on any single card unless it is absolutely necessary.
