Maybeboard

Based on the Ruthless Regiment precon decklist with Trynn and Silvar as Commanders. Tried to upgrade it and make it playable.

Since I'm a fan of tribals I took this chance to make a human tribal. I liked the idea of my humans not playing a combat role, but just existing to be sacrificed to Silvar, Devourer of the Free, where Trynn, Champion of Freedom lures them in with a promise of freedom.

With this idea in mind the deck went in a aristocratic / Voltron direction, which I think is an interesting combination. So the general strategy is to create human tokens or play cheap humans and sacrifice them to Silvar, making him stronger and stronger for scratching my opponents faces with his kitty paws while simultaneously weakening opponents through life drain.

As with all my decks, really expensive cards this deck may contain, I got from Precons or Boosters.

With Silvar out we need to make him stronger to be a real threat first. Also we want to protect him. Therefore we need to lure in some victims, promising them freedom. Trynn, Champion of Freedom and Silvar's partner in crime is the first choice of course. Furthermore cards like Hanweir Garrison   can ensure a steady flow of victims while cards like Call the Coppercoats give a mob of humans at an instant.

But the deaths of all those humans serves some cause even higher than just the feeding of Silvar. Our Opponents shall be remembered of their own mortality with every lost or doomed soul on our battlefield. Zulaport Cutthroat or Cruel Celebrant remind them as well as Impact Tremors of their mortal shells.

Probably we will not be able to only rely on feeding peasants (tokens) to Silvar, but will have to make one or two greater sacrifices. In such cases, death shall merely be a stopover on their road to fulfillment. To show our gratitude for such duty, there are certain ways to rekindle the spark of life. Bloodsoaked Champion lives to be sacrificed, while Phyrexian Reclamation is a cheap way to revive the dead. Palace Siege gives us the option of reclamation or life drain.

Feeding Silvar as many humans as possible ensures our gain of power...but we want more! Why only profit of our own peoples' deaths when there is more to gain? Blade of the Bloodchief or Sadistic Glee give us a bigger picture of what Silvar is capable of, if we just open our eyes for what our opponents have to offer...Of course we also should have faith in Silvar himself; Sword of Hours demonstrates what potential lies within him.

Silvar sure is menacining, but there are creatures out there whose courage or stupidity are great enough to stand even in his way. To avoid this and get directly at our opponents' throats, Vorrac Battlehorns or Silent Arbiter leave no option for standing in Silvar's path while Thalia, Heretic Cathar does her duty well in giving us more openings on the battlefield. Oh and there's also this certain lizard Silvar seemingly grew so fond of, that should not be underestimated. It is to hope for Trynn she's watching her back or maybe we'll soon see her beloved cat roam the lands with Kediss, Emberclaw Familiar by his side...

What if Silvar won't heed our call (for whatever reasons)? Our power comes with the sacrifices we make so we need to ensure someone or -thing can step into Silvar's position. Immersturm Predator, Falkenrath Aristocrat or Fain, the Broker seem to be acceptable substitutes, at least for a while...

Overall it's just for fun and casual playing. Nevertheless, opinions and reckommendations always welcome!
