Definitely a true statement. I will test this list for a little bit as it is now, and depending on how much better/worst Tron gets I'll look at adding a pair of Edges main.

Creeping Tar Pit is more of an alternate wincon/Planeswalker pressure vs a main way to win. Hitting it as a one of does not affect the actual strategy as much as it appears to.

I'd consider Spreading Seas in the Sideboard against Tron. It's amazing.

Hmmm,... Birthing Pod seems like the premier deck right now, maybe adding a one of or two of Torpor orb in the side can help. In my own play testing I've found that in modern Sultai charm is...., well ...awkward to say the least. I find that the separate devotion to each color can be annoying and the versatility of the card doesn't end up balancing out that one extra mana cost, I'd recommend becoming more control heavy by adding either confidants or making some of your hand disrupt spells a four of. Nice build cool concept Plus 1!

Tectonic edge is exactly the same as fulminator mage, really. It's just most people run 6-8 land destruction cards to deal with Tron. Remember you need that card to be in your hand T2 and ready to go on T3.
