Strategy of this deck: Get out Zur the Enchanter and as he attacks, tutor these enchantments out mostly in this order but depending on the board state:

  • Vanishing - to phase out Zur at any time to protect him from board wipes
  • Necropotence - Pay 1 life per card to draw to fill your hand back up
  • Solitary Confinement - prevent all damage to you
  • Steel of the Godhead - +2/+2, unblockable, lifelink
  • Empyrial Armor - +1/+1 for each card in your hand. (use necropotence to have a lot of cards)

How it Wins:

The goal is have something to allow unlimited cards in hand, draw enough cards with necropotence to swing for 21 points of commander damage and one shot kill your opponents.

If necropotence gets removed and you can’t draw lots of cards, you can still tutor out Battle Mastery and or Copy Enchantment with Zur to beef up his attacks.

It runs a lot of counters and board wipes to control the board while Zur gains power.

The reason there is so much mana ramp even though the average CMC is ~2.5 is to make sure that there is always enough to phase out Zur, cast counter spells or do a board wipe in the same turn as phasing out Zur.
