Object of the deck is to trigger Silverfur Partisan's ability as many times as possible putting 2/2 Wolf in play over and over again.
The only problem this deck runs into is it relies heavily on Silverfur Partisan and that's one card, 4 out of 60+, so the probabilities of getting it are not that great.
What do we do to fix this issue?
Sac a creature and search out another creature that's CMC is X+2 or less where X is the sac'd creatures CMC. Put it straight into play.
You need X to be 2 at least to search for either Zada or Silverfur.
1 works for Silverfur's but not for Zada.
Kessig Prowler
, Village Messenger
, or
Gnarlwood Dryad
are okay options.
We could use Collected Company but why? Eldritch Evolution lets you play exactly the one you want, Silverfur Partisan/Zada unlike having to get lucky with Collected Company sifting off the top and hoping to hit it. Also Collected Company doesn't let you play Zada and it's way overpriced right now.
Stick to Wolf/Werewolf at 2CMC with creatures like
Ember-Eye Wolf
or Lupine Prototype,
Ulvenwald Captive
, and Duskwatch Recruiter so you can search out anything.
Flipping Duskwatch Recruiter to Krallenhorde Howler
can make creatures you cast cost less. Which goes a long way to emptying your hand so the 5/5 Lupine Prototype can attack.
You could decide to include Hangarback Walker for one last hurrah in standard because when it's sac'd your flooding out the 1/1 thopters to replace it, yeah they're not Wolf so they don't do anything but more creatures the better. Plus if you sac any token at 0 CMC you can search out a 2 CMC creature with Evolution. Grabbing a Wolf like Lupine Prototype and putting a 5/5 into play.
So while this deck is nothing new and we've seen it before from people like Craig Wescoe attempt a go at it before Eldritch Moon even, the new Eldritch Moon card(s) just give us a pretty good tutor to go grab the main combo pieces (Silverfur Partisan + Zada, Hedron Grinder
) which really helps.
Before we had Eldritch Evolution I attempted to use Collected Company but i found even when I hit my Silverfur I would still run into the problem finding the other piece Zada, Hedron Grinder to really get the combo going.
This one card lets you find both, fairly easily. If you happen to draw both naturally you can still use it to pluck and play another Silverfur Partisan because having two or three in play really puts this deck out of control when you trigger each of them and flood the field with a dozen 2/2 Wolf.
Especially when you trigger Silverfur at instant speed on their turn and then on your turn attack with all of them, non-summoning sickness.
Once you get a few Silverfur in play just start targeting any Wolf/Werewolf with spells and flooding the board with more 2/2 Wolf and they won't be able to keep pace.
This deck is most efficient when you have Zada, Hedron Grinder in play. When you do, it's better to cast a single target spell at Zada, who spreads it to everything.
Every wolf and every 2/2 Wolf gets targeted and triggers Silverfur's effect to spawn a new Wolf. Even Silverfur will spawn another token if you have two of him in play, each counts as another Wolf/Werewolf for the other to trigger off of.
Targetters
Some of the better targeter spells staying within the colors. I didn't splash or in this deck but my previous Wolf Pack decks I did because they are better effects. Things like Slip Through Space, Glint,
Center Soul
, Taigam’s Strike,
Unity of Purpose
, and Dromoka's Command.
I did make a Temur build of this to splash for some of these great blue spells.

Might of the Masses
Target one wolf and it gains +1/+1 for every wolf (any creature). Or target Zada and every creature gets the pump for every other creature. Making everything huge for a turn. This can even be better than an Overrun with enough creatures in play. It doesn't give trample but this next card does...
Rush of Adrenaline
It's cheap and gives everything Trample if you target Zada. Also pumps everything +2/+1
Outnumber
If there ever was a card that fit inside a deck and was named after exactly what that deck does -- this is it! Outnumber their creatures and beat face.
Expedite
This one might get overlooked but trust me once set up it's the card you want to draw.
Giving something Haste that didn't come into play this turn is pointless but the cantrip is nice, especially when you have like 5 Wolf/Werewolf in play along with Zada.
Even when you single target a wolf you can always use a Draw 1.
But it becomes ridiculous when you consider Zada/Silverfur are in play. Say you have both of them and one other wolf. Cast Expedite targeting Zada, Hedron Grinder, which copies the spell twice now, targeting both wolves you have in play. This then triggers Silverfur Partisan's ability. When everything resolves, you get the 2/2 Wolf and draw three cards.
Now say you drew a wolf amongst those three cards and another Expedite. You play the wolf and now have 3 plus Silverfur for 4 and Zada. Cast Expedite on Zada, put out 3 more 2/2 Wolf and draw a whopping 5 cards! You can constantly refill your hand once you get set up with Expedite.
Sure Strike
Giving something First Strike can be used in surprise, allowing you to cast this at instant speed after they attack in and now your creatures are dealing damage first before they take any in return. Don't forget you'll trigger Silverfur's effect on their turn putting the tokens in on their turn so when it becomes your turn they don't need Haste to attack since they don't suffer from summoning sickness like they would if you triggered his effect on your own turn.
This makes Instant target spells more important than Sorcery but really it's just whatever is cheap.
Confront the Unknown
This doesn't really stand out except when you target Zada, Hedron Grinder, which copies the spell onto Silverfur Partisan and all three other Wolf you have in play. This triggers the Silverfur Partisan ability four more times, which results in four more 2/2 Wolf (seven total) and putting four Clues into play. It can get out of hand really easy.
Prey Upon freshly reprinted
Lead by Example
You can target two different Wolf/Werewolf triggering the Silverfur's effect twice.
Vines of the Recluse
&
Aim High
Aim High is meant to be played as a trap, hence the instant speed, by casting it when they declare attackers and think your creature is tapped and cannot block. You cast this and untap said creature give it +2/+2 and Reach.
Reach in particular makes this at the very least a nice sideboard card because what defense do we have for Flying besides spot removal and just racing them in damage output?
Keep in mind also that the Aim High can target a creature thats already untapped so you can use it to trigger Silverfur's effect on your turn if it's the only spell you have to cast. If you do so though it might be better to attack first. After declaring the creature attacking you can cast this and untap it and it doesnt cause it to be removed from combat, it'll give you a neat little trick offensively to trick them into blocking it and then pumping it for +2/+2 which might put it over the top of their creatures toughness.
Vines of the Recluse might be better though because it's cheaper.
Both very good alongside Cryptolith Rite to tap creature for mana, untap, tap more creatures for mana. Good ramp.
Brute Strength
Titan's Strength
Shape the Sands
Woodcutter's Grit
A little costly at 3 but certainly not expensive for the effect. Hit Zada to give everything Hexproof at instant speed in response to removal. It's so important we should really run more in sideboard vs control decks. Oh yeah the +3/+3 temporary boost isn't bad at all either.
Moonlight Hunt
This is an important card.
It also lets the Lupine 5/5 Wolf deal damage without attacking for times you cannot empty your hand.
Second Harvest
It lets you double your army once you have built it sufficiently up. Combines with Cryptolith Rite to give you some godly amounts of mana ramp! Cyptolith Rite and all them tokens got you covered for mana then.
Should find more room for Lupine Prototype
It's hard to add more creatures, keep the lands you need, but still run a bunch of cheap spells to target wolf and werewolf to trigger Silverfur Partisan.
It's a 5/5 Wolf for 2 CMC but you need to keep your hand empty so it can attack. It's not hard to cast all your cards and have your hand empty so I'm not worried about that restriction and besides you can always
Moonlight Hunt
and it adds +5 to dmg. The thing I like about it and why I have something like
Ember-Eye Wolf
in main deck right now is at 2 CMC you can Eldritch Evolution out Zada, Hedron Grinder.
This is also why I include Village Messenger
and Kessig Prowler
at 1CMC and still a target-able Wolf/Werewolf they can be sac'd to Evolution and search out the Silverfur Partisan which lets be honest having 2 or 3 in play is what this deck wants and needs.
The Kessig Prowler transforms and doesn't turn back which is nice because at 4/4 and cannot be blocked by multiples the
Sinuous Predator
usually kills off whatever blocks it. And if you have
Vildin-Pack Alpha
out it comes in as a 4/4 for 1 CMC and doesn't flip back because it's Eldrazi and Emrakul has twisted the werewolves into new, sinister forms that cannot turn back.
The
Moonrise Intruder
's Menace makes it unblockable unless blocked by 2 or more. If you keep
Moonlight Hunt
ing down their creatures it can hit home every time.
Other cards to consider Show
Impact Tremors
I keep including and then taking it out again. I can't decide but with tokens coming in all the time those 1 dmg pings can add up to a lot of direct damage.
Hermit of the Natterknolls
It punishes them for playing spells on your turn by rewarding you with card advantage. Plus the Flavor text is great. Many can stand, where one would fall practically describes this deck perfectly. Where one 2/2 Wolf would fall to just about anything many of them tokens overwhelm and can withstand just about anything.
Geier Reach Bandit
The Haste is nice.
Ember-Eye Wolf
I love the art and it's the cheapest wolf in Standard. Haste is nice too and the built in pump actually can be a nice mana dump once we get going with plenty of creatures in play and each becoming tappable for mana with Cryptolith Rite you can make this one guy very huge.
Ulrich's Kindred
Another mana dump. You can make a few attacking Wolf creatures indestructible.
Quilled Wolf
One more cheap wolf 2/2 isn't bad but it can be made into a 6/6 if you need a giant blocker that kills one of their ground creatures. Simply tap a few of the 2/2 Wolf with the Cryptolith Rite in play to pay for the mana if you don't have enough lands.
Convicted Killer
Scourge Wolf
Assembled Alphas
Smoldering Werewolf
Vildin-Pack Outcast
Cult of the Waxing Moon
Another costly card that simply doesn't fit this CoCo deck but does fit the transforming Werewolves theme many of our cards share. Another way to put them Wolf tokens into play.
Pack Guardian
I really like how it brings in two wolf creatures getting us ahead for Silverfur who needs more and more wolf creatures to target through Zada. And by discarding a land you can empty your hand for things like the Lupine Wolf to attack. I also really like that it has flash. Flash it in to surprise block an attacking creature. It also helps things like Scourge Wolf in trying to achieve Delirium because it'll help get 1 type - Land - to the grave.
Howlpack Resurgence
Neglected Heirloom
//
Ashmouth Blade
I don't really think any Equipment is needed but if you wanted to try to run this one it could be beneficial alongside the right creature base. Turn 1, drop this. Turn 2,
Hinterland Logger
Turn 3, equip this. At the end of that turn 3 you have a 7/5 with First Strike and Trample.
Obsessive Skinner
Arlinn Kord
Maybeboard is additional cards that could fit for other formats mainly, especially modern, if you wanna kick it up a notch.
Here's my previous attempt at a Silverfur Deck
And the offshoots
