Naya Zoo MindrangeThis is my latest creation that I will be bringing to a grand Prix in Febuary of 2015. The deck is good at deploying threats, mana ramping, and has several artifact and enchantment removal.
The Mainboard
Wild Nacatl
is obviously amazing in this deck. It brings down the early beats and will often be joined by a Qasali Pridemage ; hitting for 4 damage on turn two isn't too shabby. The deck has a removal suite in the form of Path to Exile, Lightning Bolt, and Lightning Helix as well as Qasali Pidemage to deal with artifacts and enchantments. The deck has several modes. The first is damage and beatdown. Turn one forest into Nacatl, next turn Sacred Foundry, buffing up the Nactl and hitting for four. After that, it deployed several other threats and removes any blockers. The other mode is Birds of Paradise, next turn birds of paradise into birds of paradise, turn three Thundermaw Hellkite into
Wild Nacatl
. There are certainly other modes that I have not discovered yet, but I will keep you guys posted about any I find.
The Mana Base
This is a more or less budget mana base (e.g. no expensive, no crazy, thirty dollar lands). Ancient Ziggurat is a good no pain land that can give you a
Loam Lion
, a Birds of Paradise, a Kird Ape, and much more. I also have several cheap fetches, some mana confluences, some Shocklands, a Slayers' Stronghold, a
kessig wolfrun
, and 6 basics in case of Blood Moons.
The Sideboard
Multiple Stony Silences shut down
Mana Bloom
s and Melira Pod Decks. Dismember is for UR Delver decks and Monastery Swiftspears that get huge. Blood Moon is for decks like Scapeshift, Control decks, and other nonbasic lands. Aven Mindcensor is mainly for Scapeshift decks and opposing fetch lands. Rest in Peace is for Living End decks, Tarmogoyfs, and other graveyard based decks. Choke is for blue control decks and so is Thrun, the Last Troll.
Thanks for looking at this deck. +1 if you like it. Also, any suggustions would be awesome.
