Yep yep can't go wrong with him. Played him in my Mimeoplasm commander deck. Loved him so much I got another one and built a similar deck to yours. I've updated mine with the new Sidisi.

Sidisi is awesome. I considered it over Jarad. But with the sheer amount of mill, Sidisi would more than likely just end up in the yard most of the time. So I went with Jarad since I can get him back out - not to mention his nuke is insane when combined with anything + Bonehoard.

That nuke can definitely kill late game with the Lord of Extinction and it's quite fun by turn 6 to kill your opponent with 32 straight to the face.

Something to consider for removal would be Go for the Throat as it is more versatile than Doom Blade. Also you may want to consider adding some Abrupt Decay in the deck to deal with anything that may be an obstacle to take your opponent down. Such as Ensnaring Bridge. Another couple of cards that I've seen in many of these types of decks are Darkblast for tokens or weenie horde type decks. Also Nighthowler is a monster of a card in decks that can mill half of the deck by turn 5 or 6.

One thing I wanted to add would be any kind of cards that give you trample Primal Rage. Only Splinterfright and Lotleth Troll have trample but giving it to Boneyard Wurm and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord could definitely be a problem for any opponent you may have.

Thanks for the recommendations Pheardemons! I definitely agree with your assessment of Go for the Throat over Doom Blade. I only went with Doom Blade because it's what I actually own. Honestly, I forgot Abrupt Decay existed, but you're totally right, it'd be an excellent addition to the deck - probably sideboard though, as the deck really just wants to take those kinds of spells from the opponent's hand before they can ever cast them. Darkblast is OK, but honestly, this deck brings plenty of heat - a -1/-1 isn't a lot in the scheme of it. Nighthowler is bad ass and is an excellent alternative to Bonehoard, which can also attack on its own. I personally prefer Bonehoard though as it usually requires the opponent to be running a different kind of removal to get rid of it, and it's cheaper to equip to blockers after attacking with it. You're right on the trample point as well, though truthfully, I'm not sure there's room for any more spells.

Thank you for being the type of person who gives reasons for taking a recommendation or rejecting one. More respect for people who have reasons for their deck than just "no it won't work." I agree with what you said about the trample aspect because I couldn't even give any decent recommendation on what to take out of your deck without changing what your trying to do. One last recommendation for you is instead of Virulent Plague you may want to put in Bile Blight. I'm not sure how you feel about the double black but it is only two mana for -3-3 instead of 3 mana for -2-2 and it works on more than just tokens if necessary.

I try to be cordial. This is a community after all!

Also, yeah, totally switching in Bile Blight. With Life from the Loam, Dakmor Salvage, and the dual lands, is no big deal for this deck. It could probably run Phyrexian Obliterator if it really needed to.

I think I'm actually going to swap Abrupt Decay in for Doom Blade in the sideboard. Most high CMC fatties are going to give this deck time to discard them before they're cast. Abrupt Decay brings a lot more utility and covers a wide array of creatures as well.

Hi there, what about Nighthowler instead of Bonehoard? You can cast him for 3 when you need and it stacks with all +X/+X abilities depending on creatures in graveyards, cause he has also a creature type ..

Nighthowler is a decent alternative. I believe Bonehoard to be superior however because if the cheap equip cost. Being able to attack with Bonehoard on one creature then move it to another to block us very powerful. Plus if you kill it, it just falls onto the field as equipment.

Also, Bonehoard doesn't die to creature removal. They need to be running artifact removal. Whereas Nighthowler dies to both creature and enchantment removal. Like I said, good alternative, but I prefer Bonehoard.

Waking Wood sounds like Morning Wood, and Morning Wood truly is a terrible thing... D:

Lol, Waking Wood is a serious problem. It makes your morning trip to the toilet quite the tenuous task.

any deck that uses Jarad in a 60 has my vote, very nice!

April 23, 2015 7:41 p.m.

Sagarys says... #21

Hell yeah Mindcrank. If you're careful with your Dredging, he's an easy 1 shot KO with this deck. Sometimes pretty early on too if you get lucky with a Lotleth Troll + Golgari Grave-Troll combo in your opening hand.

Your deck looks promising, though you might want to take your deck off the sultai hub, and probably on the golgari since you're no longer running blue.

Oh whoops, thanks StopShot!

Sagarys says... #25

Ghoultree is decent. Solid beater. Probably a good alternative creature for Boneyard Wurm. Since he doesn't trample of help mill, I wouldn't want it over Splinterfright though.
