How's your take on adding a couple of copies of Nyx Weaver or Pharika, God of Affliction?

I can cut my costs considerably now! Who knew on Stinkweed Imp, also thoughts on Tasigur, the Golden Fang and Vengeful Pharaoh?

I'm putting this deck together, but I just can't justify the $22 it would cost to run the 3 Life From the Loams. I can't think of a good alternative though, and it seems like this deck would suffer greatly without it.

Built this deck without any changes and enjoy the theme. I have played around 30 games with it but am finding it to be a little hit or miss, some games I have lots of trouble getting anything into the yard due to drawing no dredge. Obviously when this happens the deck stalls. When it does work though it's great fun!

Have you considered The Gitrog Monster? It combos extremely well with dredge. Just cast it once you have had Splinterfright or Lotleth Troll + Nighthowler , the find a way to discard/sacrifice a land, and voila, all you library is now in your graveyard, and you have an immense (15/15 to 20/20) trampler ready to attack. It's even deadlier if you wait till after the declare blocker step to activate the combo.

I'm finally ready to get into Modern thanks to this deck. Well done!

I second The Gitrog Monster, it provides great card advantage, and synergises really well with Life from the Loam, Dakmor Salvage and Raven's Crime. Love the deck, +1!

Would Rancor be good? It would give your creatures trample and if it gets put into the graveyard it goes to your hand.

So sorry I've been unresponsive for so long, everyone. All of my decks were stolen and it really stomped all over my desire to keep playing Magic. But I'm so glad that everyone has been enjoying my decks. I'll admit, I haven't been following current MTG trends, so any questions that pertain to new cards, I'm probably not the best resource.
But you guys are all awesome, and I hope to hell that you keep having fun with my decks! If I ever get the desire to play again, this is probably the deck I'll rebuild first, followed closely by my afraid of the dark one.
Again, sorry everyone. Happy planeswalking!

Mate, I'm sorry to hear about the theft. I hope you get back into it - I'm a huge fan of your decks! In fact I think I'll put a couple together to play with a few mates, who I used to play AD&D with, that I'd like to drag into the game with me.
I'm brand-new to MTG and found this deck while looking for graveyard style decks since my intro into the game has been playing zombies on Magic Duels.
I'm putting together a version of this deck, replacing 2x Golgari Grave-Troll with 2x Golgari Thug, and the 2x Kessig Cagebreakers with 2x The Gitrog Monster and looking forward to trying it out at my first ever FNM very soon!

Oh and I really like the idea of Rancor, but what to drop? I'm leaning towards dropping a Life from the Loam and a Night's Whisper, to put in 2x Rancor.

Probably it's not worth it and just stupid, but i was wondering if a single Svogthos, the Restless Tomb could work. It is potentially a late game beater, enters the battlefield untapped (but provides just ), can be discarded and recurred with Life from the Loam if needed.

IlGuale I REALLY like the flavor of that card. I might find a way to include it just for the fun factor.

Yeah, in this kind of deck you NEED Golgari's "home, rotten home"! Glad you like it.
