Haha ya there is quite a bit of burn so far. How would Chandra really help though? This deck really isn't straight instants/sorcery.

Love the deck, had the same concept but couldn't actually put together what i was going for. Young Pyromancer is just too good of a card when combined with Molten Birth and Purphoros, God of the Forge then tacking on Guttersnipe just makes it even better. definitely +1 to you.

And the main way Chandra, Pyromaster helps out is her -7 that lets you exile the top ten cards, choose an instant or sorcery, copy it 3x, and cast without having to pay it's mana cost. so that would be 3 free elemental tokens and 6 damage to the face if Purphoros, God of the Forge is out on the field. Another great combo that can be pulled off.

Plus if that card is molten birth.. and her 0 can work well if you scry with magma jet.

And she provides a good amount of devotion for the god

Chandra is too slow and would just dilute the instant and sorcery count which I think is already a little low as-is for a deck like this. I also think the Hammer of Purphoros could come out for more instants and sorceries as excess lands aren't really a problem in this deck because they get you to overloaded Mortars and multiple Purphoros activations in one turn, which is an awesome mana sink if you start getting flooded late-game. I would consider -2 Hammer and add in +2 of one of Coordinated Assault, Dynacharge, or Weapon Surge to push through some final damage or turn a trade into a profitable combat.

The next step would be to make a sideboard, and the first cards that come to mind are electrickery, which will deal with all of the tokens a master of waves makes plus all of MUD's one-drops and skullcrack against UW-based control and MBD.

Haha, forgot to put Molten Birth when I typed out that example, but that is the card I was meaning when I typed all that out.

Wow that is a lot of great information from everyone! Thank you all. I am going to playtest this a bit, as I just made it last night from a Young Pyromancer epiphany last night! Please though, keep the input coming.

Checkout Goblin Rally for some more fun. With Purphoros, God of the Forge and Young Pyromancer it does 10 damage and gives you 5 tokens for 5 mana.

I think Ash Zealot should be a sideboard card and replace it with Skullcrack That's just my opinion. @BFG

Prevailed, why is that though? Ash Zealot gives 2 devotion and can do consistent damage. If anything, shouldn't Skullcrack be in the side instead?

I see where Prevailed is coming from.. aside from giving you devotion and the haste Ash Zealot is only able to actually be of use, as far as it's ability goes, when playing someone using a deck that requires a lot of pulling from the graveyard/flashback

I agree with Prevailed. Also Goblin Rally is a horrible card in anything outside of limited, unless you have cost dropping cards such as Goblin Electromancer . You should also develop your side board!

You could get 5+ devotion before you find purphoros. You only have 2. which gives you about a 1:30 chance of finding it. Small chances. Most metas run black devotion or American Control, with Sphinx's Revelation So, in the end it really helps more then zealot. @BFG

Plus, in most case it is better for Purphoros to not become a creature, as more things can then get rid of him. Such as Turn / Burn .

I think that Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and Chandra, Pyromaster would be helpful in this deck.
