Introduction
This deck is intended for play against modern-legal casual decks (see on the left). Since it differentiated so little from standard-legal, I made it as a standard legal list for you to constructively criticize :) (though I'd prefer tips on playing against my casual decks!)
Gameplan
Get a bunch of energy to use Dynavolt Tower as a reusable lightning bolt against the board/face. Attune with Aether and Evolving Wilds, together with the draw/quality engines of Anticipate and Glimmer of Genius should help to fix all mana problems. Harnessed Lightning is amazing as ever and
Radiant Flames
will be more useful because we can often use 3 colors.
The creatures to use is up to you. Don't play Curious Homunculus
until you can protect it (turn 4) and then it should be able to flip and provide a lot of discount and beatdown. Baral, Chief of Compliance is another great option, with faster discounts. Rogue Refiner or Shielded Aether Thief both do similar things of extra draw and energy. Thief blocks many bodies in standard in the early game while you stabilise, Rogue performs better against my casual decks, generating 2 energy and a card which is a 4 net energy gain over Thief (max 1 generated vs deathtouch, needs 3 to draw). Whirler Virtuoso generates extra energy and can earn the energy investment for thopters back in 2-3 turns over using it to burn face with Dynavolt. Niblis of Frost can help with the 'burn face' strategy, because the tapping ability should allow you to use tower on face more often. Lumbering Falls is actually a very decent attacker and difficult to deal with due to the hexproof.
Harness the Storm
is mostly for fun, easily replaced with a Negate or Disallow. However, it's also very useful for your removal/advantage array of spells and gaining more energy from Dynavolt as you're casting spells twice: Harnessed Lightning will generate 6 Energy (+4 per dynavolt), Anticipate will cycle through 6 cards, Attune with Aether generates 4(+4) energy and filters out 2 basics, etc.

In order to upgrade when budget is no concern: Spirebluff Canal and/or Botanical Sanctum can replace Evolving Wilds help the manabase to be a little faster. Torrential Gearhulks should replace the Rogue Refiner, Baral, Chief of Compliance generates extra draw and instant reduction for your counterspells, which might be beneficial over the Curious Homunculus
. Running more Disallow is often also a good choice.
Converting to casual/modern
Use better counterspells. Consider Guttersnipe.
