Pre-rotation sandbagging with loads of 1 drops, 2 drops, and 3 drops with minimal spell support was an acceptable tactic. With the rotation a great deal of the powerhouse Red creatures, going for the spell-heavy shell seems like the correct way to go. Bear in mind that this is pure speculation as I have no clue what the format will look like.
